Mentioning the Doctor's name whom I shadowed in PS

Can I mention the Doctor's last name in my Personal statement when I explain my shadowing experience with him? Just using doctor over and over isn't really conveying the effect with the experience.

Why not? There really aren't any rules so long as it reads well. Just don't be like "Doctor X" in one sentence and then in the next "I looked over at David and smiled. Another patient's life saved."

Sure. Why not? Unless you are going to say something bad about him, I can't imagine why you wouldn't mention his name.
