I'm trying to decide which to attend since i have been accepted to both. Any opinions with with logical reasoning will be appreciated. Also can i work and still attend LECOM, is the curriculum at LECOM difficult. What is the Student retention like....................Thanks

i was also accepted to these 2 schools ad i personally prefer Mercer because, its in the fun city of atlanta, the weather is great year round, i will be able to work, its a block system, plus the south is a cheap and nice place, and several of my family members r based in ATL.
i don't think u could work while in LECOM but i could be wrong. Tuition wise i don't know which is cheaper.

everyone keeps saying mercer has block sch, but how does it work.....is it easier like that, allowing more time???

Here....I'll make things easier for you 🙂 You accept MERCER and give your acceptance from LECOM to me. 🙂 🙂 🙂 I wish it were that easy.

I hope I get accepted to LECOM because I am really attracted to their 3 year program.

so can someone work in a 3 year school?

If you do a search, I think there was a thread that talked about this around 6-8 weeks ago. In a nutshell, the block at Mercer means that you have less total number of classes going on at one time, but you will spend more time each week in the classes you are taking. Last semester we had two 2 hour classes that met one day per week all through the semester. The other 4 classes were blocked - communications was 3 1/2 week block - 5 days per week in class (mornings). Block 2 was biochemistry and pharmaceutical science - biochem MWF, and PS TTH (mornings) Block 3 was biostatistics - 3 weeks long, 5 days per week (mornings). My opinion is that it doesn't necessarily make things easier, but it does cut down on the amount of different types of material you are trying to study at any one time. It also means that you have your testing a bit more spread out throughout the semester. So, I would have to say the worst week was the week that block 2 was ending, not the actual finals week in December.

For the OP, in terms of working this generally means that you have 3 afternoons when you don't have scheduled class. However, there are some other things like study sessions, required volunteer work, etc. that will cut into your afternoons.
