I know this has been asked A LOT, but still, I basically took 24 credits first year, didn't know what I wanted to do, slacked off, got a 2.7 GPA... Is it too late for med school? I need all the info I can get, please don't hold back. 2 science courses, 6 G.E courses.

With as much as I visit this site I can basically tell you what to expect as answers.

"It's never too late! Just bring your GPA up and focus on your school work, med schools like to see a upward trend"

"Plenty of people have a bad semester or two. Now that you know you messed, just start with bringing up your grades and make sure to study a lot to excel in your science coursework"

"It's only freshman year, bring that GPA up and hit the MCAT out of the park and you'll be fine."

Current M2. Definitely possible but you have to change your mindset. I has 30 hours worth my freshman year with a 2.9 G.P.A. Ended up with a 3.8 and nobody questioned it once.

It's not too late. But you need to find out what you're doing wrong. Take some time and reflect - you clearly need to change your study habits and the way your prepare for tests. If you have the motivation and drive, you can bring that gpa up.
