Messy situation: Passed Part 1, Failed Part 2 (73) and score reported to schools

Hi everyone!

I applied to most CAAPID schools this year. At the time of application, I had already passed NBDE Part1 and just completed NBDE Part 2. I just received my NBDE 2 results, and failed with a score of 73.

Unfortunately, the way JCNDE does score reporting now, a comprehensive score report was sent to the schools that I applied to (UCSF, UCLA, Washington; UOP, Michigan and Boston I self-reported scores). My GPA is 3.6 and I have 2 years experience working in a dental clinic, 6 months observership, and TOEFL 110.

My question is, how does this fail result affect my chances of getting interviews? has anyone been in a similar situation? I will sincerely appreciate any help you all can provide!

are you sure the current reporting by JCNDE send the report to schools even if the student didnt ask to? I didnt hear any of my friends saying so. Just want to confirm though. thanks

Hi Duggi,

I got a call from one of the schools saying that they didn't get my NBDE score report (even though I ordered it 2 months in advance). Then I called JCNDE and they said that because I was scheduled to take Part 2, they would send a comprehensive report after my part 2 result was processed. However, they also said that that is their default policy. If you only want part 1 score to be sent (but have taken part 2 and not got result or are taking part 2), you have to call them and let them know that you are only requesting part 1 score, else they will send a comprehensive report. There is no way to do that online, you have to call them. When I ordered my score reports online, I thought I was only ordering part 1, but apparently not.
