Are there any new or interesting drugs that contain metal elements?

Wound care-> there are [expensive, mind you] wraps/bandages that contain silver in them as an antimicrobial. Good for a lot bugs surprisingly, i.e pseudomonas MRSA strep etc.

Actisorb is one that comes to mind that has silver. This has carbon in it too for odorous wounds. Acticoat is another.

Cisplatin is a platinum molecule wrapped around a few ammoniums and chlorides. ..used for cancer.

You can coat catheters in silver.....prevents UTIs

Iron products...ferrous sulfate, ferrous gluconate, ferrous fumarate....iron dextran and iron glucose in the IV setting...and don't forget the week of iron aded to the placebo in some OCs.

And isn't iron what makes calamine lotion all pretty and pink?
