Just received an invitation for an interview at Methodist University in NC! I was wondering if anyone else has already had an interview at Methodist and can say anything about their experience?

When are you going for your interview? I have considered applying to Methodist because it is close to home (SC). However, they are so new it makes me nervous! Let me know what you think!

I'm also a little nervous about them not being accredited and next fall being their first class, but I figured I may have a better chance of getting in. I guess I'll have to see how I feel about it when I visit! My interview is November 3rd.

Good luck to you!

For anyone thinking about applying to Methodist, I felt fairly confident in their program during my interview visit. They already have a number of other health sciences programs, including physical therapy, physician assistant, and BSN, which all seem to be solid programs. Some of the OT courses will be taught with PT students, so they are trying to be somewhat interprofessional. I got to talk with each of the three already hired OT faculty during my interview and they all were really friendly! Their aim is to have 5 OT professors by next fall and eventually have 7 total.

I'm interested in Methodist too. I'm curious about your interview. How many people were they interviewing on interview day? Have you heard any news yet? How soon do they plan to start letting applicants know their status?

I was told they only interview up to 9 people at a each interview day. I have an interview in January!

There were 8 people interviewed when I went and you are split into 3 groups. Everyone cycles through the 3 stations- writing sample, tour, and one-on-one interview. It only took them 4 days to tell me I was accepted, although they said it would take 2 weeks.

Congrats! Have you decided whether you will accept?

Could you offer more insight on the sorts of questions they ask? I have my interview in 2 weeks!

They didn't ask any super weird questions- just the normal why OT, challenge you've overcome, why Methodist, etc. There are 3 groups of people you'll talk to and in each group you'll have one of the OT faculty and one faculty member from another department (PA/PT). One of the rooms was more of the why OT sorts of questions and the next was more academically-related/experiences. The last one they give you a list of characteristics and ask you various questions on how those things relate to OT.

It was the most laid back interview I have attended so far. I am really excited for their up and coming program. I found out I got accepted today and had an interview last Friday!

Congrats! I'm excited to be joining their inaugural class 🙂! Do you think you'll attend?

I co-sign with the above. I interviewed last Friday. The faculty is friendly and it was a very comfortable, chill experience. I live in town and would be happy to answer any questions about the area if you decide to attend. Good luck!
Thank you! Do you remember any specific questions that asked that I could prepare for?
