Norcal resident here. I'm interested in matching in CA, although it wouldn't be a dealbreaker not to. Leaning towards EM, but may potentially be interested in surgery.
CNU
Pros: Good match list, close to family, better chance of staying in CA
Cons: Cost (and no federal loans), H/P/F preclinical, Rotations seem to be all over the place
Methodist
Pros: ~80k cheaper over 4 years, Established rotations next to school, P/F preclinical, small class size
Cons: Not sure how confident I'd feel being part of the inaugural cohort, access to research also seems essentially nonexistent, Matching back to CA might be harder
