Has anyone seen this on uptodate? It says intrauterine exposure is associated with increased risk of cardiac malformations. But the same was not found for amphetamines. Darn...I was hoping for it to be the other way. Since as you all know, the adults I see who say they have ADHD tend to claim only high dose Adderall IR works for them...even better when crushed and snorted/injected...

This is from a recent study published in JAMA:
Huybrechts et al.
Association Between Methylphenidate and Amphetamine Use in Pregnancy and Risk of Congenital Malformations
A Cohort Study From the International Pregnancy Safety Study Consortium

Congenital Malformations and Methylphenidate and Amphetamine Use in Pregnancy

Overall I found the article reassuring, in general I tell women to stop all stimulants prior to conceiving. I don't think this would necessarily change that advice given how much is still unknown about fetal exposure to stimulants, but it makes me less anxious about unintentional exposures in early pregnnacy.
