MGH DPT Class of 2017

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Got accepted to MGH as well, and I could not be more excited! Message me if anyone is interested in a roommate.

just made my final decision and i'll be attending MGH this summer as well 🙂 can't wait to meet you all, I'm so excited! Where are you guys from? and where will you plan on living in boston?

Congrats to all of you! I'm a student here now and am looking for a few new (preferably female) roommates. Message me if you're interested and I'll definitely be posting something with more details about my place once the facebook group is up and running

Would you guys mind posting your stats/tips on getting an acceptance? MGH is my top choice and I will be applying next cycle.

University: Florida International University
Major: Physical Education: Sports and Fitness Studies
Overall GPA: 3.62
Pre-Req GPA: 3.44 (Before Anatomy B, and Physiology retake C->A)
GRE: 160 Verbal 163 Quantitative 4.0 Writing

Extra-Curricular: Fraternity - Secretary, Chapter President, Black Student Union - Academic coordinator, Vice President, Sport Science Organization - Council representative

Volunteer: 80 Outpatient (clinic), 40 inpatient (hospital)

Applied: FIU, MGH, Simmons College (Incomplete application)
Acceptances: FIU, MGH
Interviews: FIU (1/17), MGH (1/25)
Rejections: None

My recommendation is have at least a 3.3 prereq GPA, take the GRE early so you have time to retake it if necessary, and apply EARLY and thoroughly! The quality of your recommendations will be very helpful as well. I had an inpatient PT, an outpatient PT, and department chair of my program. Get hours in inpatient and outpatient settings and go beyond the minimal 10 hours they require. Having a breadth of experience will make your personal statement more meaningful and the interview more effective. Hope I was helpful and good luck!
