I can't speak from personal experience but one of my SICU attendings in med school did the fellowship there. He was great, and spoke highly of it. He probably would have been great no matter where he went. BTW he was board certified in surgical critical care but split his time doing surg onc and trauma/CCM (sometimes both in the same week).
Im applying general surgery with a strong interest in trauma, ive looked into the florida programs and from what I've read and heard Umiami is one of the best, I dont think anyone would say its not top 5 in the country even with personal bias aside.
I haven't yet rotated through Ryder, but everyone here has nothing but good things to say about it. It is an independent trauma center, so you will see nothing but trauma when you work there. I've heard #2 trauma volume in the country behind Shock Trauma in Maryland. Our senior surgical residents seem well trained, and I do know that there is a well respected trauma/cc fellowship here. That's what little I can offer.
a lot of trauma there, Ped hit by vehicless the most rude drivers in america,,over here. well i used to work there.. but you will get good trauma exp there for sure.
