I am from S.Fl and I wanted to go home... I rotated there in May. Dr. Lindley was a fellow from the program there who was very talented. He went to private practice then came back to run the fellowship. It seems like he was frustrated with some small things.. like.. they would not give him an office... etc. From what I understand, he took a private position out of Florida with better pay and vacation. I was holding out on hearing from them.. but took a position somewhere else. From what I understand, though, Lindley is there until the 19th and helping the new guy that started to go through the applications, etc. So they should be offering interviews soon.. I enjoyed working there, but I am happier I took the position that I did. My brother is an Anesthesia resident at UM and he says the pain program is.. fair. He advised me repeatedly not to go there... But to be perfectly honest, the fellows get experience in a decent amount of procedures, it didn't seem malignant, and Dr. Pattin has a lot of procedures that he somewhat... decided was the best way to do it, and they are pretty effective methods so it seems. On a side note, UM/JMH made all their residents and fellows take a pay cut secondary to the financial problems they were having there.. Regardless of what happens, good luck!
