I fortunately have been accepted to both schools and I am looking to get some input into which school you all think would be the better option. I have made an extensive comparison between them in the link below. Please let me know what you all think or if you have any more insight!

I would personally pay the extra money for miami.
Things that are difficult to really give attention to
1. Step scores. These are personal effort driven and many confounders like metrics that arent standardized and mcat scores.
2. Student support and culture although impact your experience in a large way, it is hard to gauge that in a day .
3. Residency placement is a difficult thing to interpret.

I reviewed your very detailed spreadsheet.

Unless your parents are very rich, likely you will have to wait until final financial aid information/scholarship information is available, bc you might get scholarship money at one but not the other.

Though Miami more prestigious, if you do well at UCF, no doors will be closed, esp in your "likely" field of IM. Esp if you want to stay in FL.

Seems like you would choose Miami if money is the same, but you should not have any doubts about picking UCF if they give you significantly more $$$.

I'm actually in the same boat- and am leading towards Miami for many of the reasons you listed. I also recently talked to a third year at UCF and it seems like they're going through a huge transition with clinical sites and relying a lot on the fact that their hospital will be opening - losing their relationship with Orlando Regional is a huge con for me. But money and everything could make it worth it, and you can definitely do well from either school!

I'm also considering these 2 schools (mainly bc UCF is so cheap compared to every other school).

Retweet to the above info about the messy situation with UCF partner hospitals. COA at Miami will be much more expensive most likely, but I reckon it will be worth it. Even though Miami is on probation by the LCME, I think they're making huge strides in righting those wrongs (i.e. considering going true P/F, building a new med education building, etc.). Also, clinical training at Miami will be unmatched. Yes- the curriculum at UCF is tailored to prep you for Step 1, but the resources at Miami will better prepare you to be a better clinician in the long-run.
