Are they looking for full blown essay with this reply card?

(What were the most important factors that led you to apply to the University of Miami School of Medicine?)

How long was your response?

Be careful with that! I thought it was the secondary itself and used all of my "good stuff" on it by accident. 😳

what does secondary ask?

Why do you want to study medicine at the University of Miami School of Medicine? Be as specific as possible and limit your response to 750 characters.

Briefly describe the one healthcare experience you have had that most significantly influenced your decision to study medicine. Do not send or simply copy information from your personal statement in your AMCAS application. Limit your answer to 1,875 characters.

Briefly describe your non-science, non-medical experiences and activities in the spaces below. Where appropriate, include dates and length of time of your involvement. Do not send additional pages or send a resume and do not send examples of your work or photocopies of awards or recognition that you have received. Answers will be limited to 375 characters.

I just wrote a couple of sentences about why I applied there on the reply card--got the invite for the secondary a few days later. I didn't get the impression the reply card is all that important, and since you have to write a whole essay on why you want to go there in the secondary (as others have posted) it's probably best to just give the main points in the reply card and save the elaboration for the secondary.

Damn. Lot of essays 😱

Yeah, but most of them are really short ... it's hard to say anything meaningful in three sentences!
