that seems to be the case for a lot of people... better than an outright rejection I would think

Are you applying there too? To tell you the truth I would rather go to their DO school anyway, seeing that I want to go into family practice.

I've been under review since August 28.
I also applied to MSUCOM, completed the secondary by September 28 and was accepted October 4... plus it's a better school.

It seems like the MD school doesn't have that much going for it, and the DO school is the best in the country... very well respected throughout the region. But the MD school is blooming and expanding... the Grand Rapids expansion looks very promising. I didn't apply DO, but I think I'd pick Wayne St. over MSU-CHM if I get the choice, but I'll have to see...

My AMCAS is not verified yet, so my application is not active there yet, but a friend of mine sent in his money 3 or 4 weeks ago and still didn't hear anything... same thing for Wayne

I also applied to wayne, and I completed the secondary about two weeks ago. I think it will be a toss up for me though if I had to chose between wayne and MSUCOM. But I guess I would have to get accepted first huh. I really like my chances at msucom, but I think with wayne it is a toss up, like every other md school. But we will see. Good luck.

micheals if you don't mind me asking, what were your stats like?

I only applied to MSUCHM, not the COM and have an interview the 28th. My stats aren't outstanding, but they're not bad, i have a 8V, 10B, 9P, but i also want to work in rural and underprivilaged medicine. Has anyone else applied and intervied at MSUCHM? Its the only other MD school i applied to either than my home state and i'm a little nervous.

34O (10P, 11V, 13B), 3.45, adequate EC's.

I'm also stuck between Wayne and MSU, but as it stands, I'm waitlisted at Wayne and accepted at MSU, so there's no real decision to be made.

Well I'm OOS, and have an interview next month, surprisingly enough.
BTW, do I have any prayer of getting in-state status if I go?? That tuition is awful for OOS people. 😱
Doesn't anyone have anything good to say about this school?

Interviewed at state sept 21....accepted oct 24.

In state, avg MCAT, very high GPA, MSU undergrad. Prolly my letter of rec from a guy that was on the adcom for 45 years stating something along the lines of "it's not if you accept him that's the decision, it's what you can do to keep him here."

hey congrats on the interview invite. but can i ask when u were complete???

I'm instate, was complete at MSU-CHM on 7/21, but didn't receive my screened secondary until 11/30!! I interviewed at UMich at the end of September and declined my late November WSU interview...

I'm a little concerned with all of the uncertainty surrounding MSU and WSU...

Are you already accepted somewhere or did you decline that interview for some other reason than unwarranted speculation about the DMC-WSU squabbling?

I'm actually curious as well... I completed my application in August... but I still have yet to hear back or even be requested to fill out a secondary... does this mean a rejection?

Stats: 32R 3.76 GPA Biochem Major

the wayne problems are well documented, but what is this MSU uncertainty you speak of?

...though I wouldn't really call the worrying about wayne "unwarranted" when an entire residency program got the axe during the squabbling. Sure it's temporarily resolved, but that bull**** shouldn't happen, period.

Yes, I've received 3 acceptances thus far, thank you for your concern.

I agree. But it's political garbage. SE Michigan's health care system can't survive without the partnership.

Maybe the Grand Rapids expansion?? Seems like a good move to me...less of a primary care and more of a research focus. Plus GR's health system rocks.

But anytime things change there is a risk of **** goin' wrong...

I've yet to be extended a secondary application, and I, too, have been complete for awhile (08.24.2006). Every time I call, it's like "Bueller? Bueller?"
