first we do ElISA - FOR A"B..(VS. P24-CORE Ag and gp 41 tm protein)

Yes I Do Know That Elisa Is A Screening Test And Western Blot Is The Diagnostic Test.. But We Dont Have Elisa As The Option... I Was Abit Ruffled By This Question As Well.

The Explaination Says...
Hiv Ab /western Blot Are Not Suitable Fr The Pt Coz They Need Abs Which Are Not Present At Week 2.next Pcr And Viral Culture Are Very Senstive Tests For Detection Of Hiv + Status But Highly Expensive Around $300.. So The Only Cost Effective And Reliable Test Would Be Detection Of Hiv Atigens Via Eia

I DID GET WHAT THIS QUESTION MEANS NOW... ELISA/EIA ARE THE SAME CAN BE USED FOR BOTH AG/AB. HOWEVEWR EIA FOR AB CANNOT BE USED AT 2WEEKS.. BUT EIA FOR AG CAN BE APPLICABLE... btw..Enzyme-Linked ImmunoSorbent Assay, also called ELISA, Enzyme ImmunoAssay or EIA..u can detect both ab or ag..
