Soon to be the worst state in the country to practice in. If you have an unused, dusty OR license. Get ready to not renew it.

The social justice warriors are drawing their swords and coming for any normal people in the state.

I actually hope they pass this. So just maybe, maybe as their rabid nature turn on themselves and every one loses their license, they might get a glimmer of insight. Huh, I wonder why there are no physicians in the state? But at least they have Naturopathic Physicians and DCs who can replace them!

Good times are coming for lawyers in OR. Ability to sue employers, snitches, and state medical boards for loss of license, livelihood, etc.

I wonder if the posts by Esther Choo, MD in 2019 would be pushed forward to lead to license loss under this proposal...

Minor bonus topic: Mind boggling, that having the insurance rates for Regence of Oregon in Portland, a behemoth like OHSU, couldn't even run itself in the black. And because they couldn't manage things themselves, they are selling out to Legacy who is cleaning house and righting their spreadsheets for them. Oregon is a mess.

I couldn’t find any real news organizations reporting on this.

I couldn’t find any legitimate news outlets reporting on this. Always wild to see people continue to consume infotainment from a corporation that had to pay 700+ million dollars as a result of its bias.

The wording of the proposed rule seems like more of a virtue signal and difficult to define. It’s also always possible that more old fashioned physicians treat the current generation of young adults dismissively, and they don’t like that. But yeah, maybe it could result in a lot of legal nonsense. If it did, I imagine physicians would vote with their feet. Remains to be seen.

Oregon has many physicians in the state. They rank higher than most states for physicians per capita- I’m not sure where your claim is coming from but maybe there has been a recent huge exodus. 2021 State Profiles

I'm not sure the news outlet is particularly relevant as they do cite their source, but I don't see this being enforceable. It's too vague. "Implicit" bias is literally unconscious by definition. If they do attempt to promulgate the rule, I anticipate it being struck down. That said...the more progressive a state is, the more physicians there are per capita, pretty universally. There has not been, nor will there be, an exodus. Oregon has the 13th highest physicians per capita in the country. Generally only those states up in the Northeast are denser. Now Eastern (more conservative and rural) Oregon does have areas of very significant physician shortage.

Based on this rule, you’re required to report your own subconscious bias to the board of medicine. Low IQ move of the decade here.

And if you dare to mention how population X has health issue Y, but don't dress it up in the virtue signaling approved language of the hour, it will be miss heard and considered a micro aggression.

Or if you use standard terms like obesity and routine lifestyle change counseling or discussion of meds or surgery, etc, patient is part of the ridiculous 'don't use obesity club' they report you to hospital ombudsman. Social Justice Warrior, Jenny MSW working the ombudsman job decides to report this to board. You get a notice from the medical board for "fat shaming micro aggression."

The Feels matter more than the facts.

Another issue is state license costs. States often times tie their relative license cost to how much is spent on doing investigations for license holders. So if more investigations happen, state board costs increase, state license cost increase.

You practice in OR. Now I see why the wokeism bothers you

Please purchase billboards across the country or run for elected office. That's great advice for everyone.
I mean it’s basically the same advise I’ve had for patients since COVID.. lol
