Hello Everyone I had a question about this microbiology class that I'm talking. I see that most schools require you have 6 hours of biology and most of them want you to take zoology and biology. Well I already took biology and I'm talking microbiology right now for my degree in Health Science and I was wondering if this will count as a biology prerequisite ?????? 😕

I took Bio I w/ Lab and Micro w/ Lab to fulfill my Bio I and Advanced Bio Pre-Req's. No problem. Just depends on the schools you are applying for.

I did one semester of general bio and took micro at the same time to complete the prereq requirement (I was on a deadline). Unless the school specifically says micro doesn't count, then you're fine. You can always email to ask to be sure.

I think "micro" would suffice for many programs. There are some programs that are extremely strict with only General BIO 1 and 2, but not all. As Dancer mentioned, check with the schools that you want to apply to. One of my Bio classes was of the cell biology variety and it seemed to suffice for most programs, but two programs I applied to were a little iffy b/c it was not straight Bio 1 and 2. So certainly double check. Best wishes!

Thanks for your help! another quick question! Did any of you guys recently get into a program? If so what schools?
