Anyone doing their own microdissection on sendout testing and billing for it? We send out at least 5 NGS panels per day on FFPE, and with manual microdissection paying $170 a pop, it would be nice to do it in house. Anybody know if reference labs are willing to split off that charge?

Interesting idea.

We charge for reviewing archival tissue prior to sendout.
It nets around the same amount as a 88305

How often is microdissection required ?
Some tests may not require it.

Not as much $ money for the CPT as I said. 20-25 dollars.
Its something for you time.
Note: some people will tell it has to be filed for 30 days.
This is not true. Next day after the case is signed is OK to bill.
