Can anyone recommend a microscope to buy which is functional but is as inexpensive as possible?

If I can't get replies about microscopes on a pathology forum, what is the world coming to?

Where did Andy's reply about his 3 headed microscope in his office in the second bedroom of his condo go?

I found that immensely help in my search for an appropriate microscope to buy.

Just make me a spare key to your pad. I can come over all the time and use your microscope. Luckily just in time since we're doing stool samples next week...

The thing is, having a microscope at home isn't always great - taking slides out of the hospital because you want to look at them at home and not at work violates a few regulations, most I think related to HIPAA.

In general, the best way to get a microscope for personal use is probably to get an old one from a hospital that isn't being used anymore and ask if you can buy it.
