Technology Microsoft Office problems

For some reason, whenever I start any microsoft office application (excel, powerpoint, word, etc) a windows installer pop up appears saying "preparing to install." It would load for about 20-30 seconds before starting up the application. Anyone have this happen to them before? Should I just reinstall office?
