I'm looking to stay in the midwest (I'm in Michigan currently, but not a resident by most MI schools' standards), and am looking for some feedback regarding school selection.

My list so far:
University of Michigan (my first choice, but a reach, considering the MCAT)
Michigan State
Wayne State
University of MN
Mayo
University of WI
Northwestern

I especially don't know much about IL or OH schools, so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I'd scratch Northwestern which is highly-selective and research-intense, and consider adding Rosalind Franklin (Chicago Med School), University of Illinois (high OOS tuition, though), Rush, & Loyola. Don't bother with U Iowa, which expects better stats from OOS applicants. I hear U Indiana doesn't take OOSers.

Definitely apply to Univ of Cincinnati and Univ of Toledo (good schools, in-state tuition after first year).

also consider SLU, MCW, RFU, Loyola.
