I highly recommend you to go to Comfort Inn. I think it's about 3~4 miles away from MWU. It's supposed to be $60 but if you tell them that you came for interview, they only charge about $40. They take you to school in the morning 🙂
could you please address these questions too...
how far is it from air port... and how much would it cost to get to the hotel?
is it worth to rent a car?

Tempting because it would be a lot more fun having a buddy at the interview, but since I'm a girl, probably no. 🙂 I'm also coming from CA, which part are you in?
Peanut! Here's some info they gave us: https://online.midwestern.edu/AZ_Hotel_List.pdf
It looks like it's best to shuttle around, especially if you're younger and the rental service tacks on underage fees.

I have an interview on the 13th, so this doesn't really help you, but I got a suite at the Comfort suites for $40. It's supposed to sleep 4 (I guess I'll be trying out all the beds). The car rental ran me $35, if I recall correctly.
Also a dude from Cali.

Push the beds together!! ULTRABED!!
Haha, mind as well if you're paying for it!
yep! my interview is the 22nd, comfort inn cost 40. i was thinking about taking a taxi from the airport to comfort inn, its about 21 miles away from PHX airport. what would that cost me? it doesnt seem worth it to rent a car if the hotel is shuttling me to the interview.
Hello, anybody willing to share a hotel room on the 13th?
or anybody have a cheap place nearby?
im a guy from cali, just for your info
I was wondering if you could share wat day did u turn in your AADSAS app and when did u hear from MWU-Glendale (of course if u don't mind)
Thanks!

I think it takes about 20 min from airport to the hotel and about 25 min to MWU. 5 min distance between hotel to MWU. 😀
I recommend you to take something called "SUPER SHUTTLE".
Think of it as big taxi that takes you the specific address you tell them to by using GPS. They drop whoever's destination is the closest and you share this shuttle with maybe 2~4 other people so it will take longer to reach the destination(since other ppl can be dropped first) but it's very cheap(about 20 dollars).
Super shuttle is blue color ven(is this how i spell the car🙂)
I wouldn't rent a car. That will costs you about $100 per day.

I check w/ expedia for flight & hotel and got a sweet deal... but car was around 70 bucks...
I asked them how much is the shuttle to the hotel they said one way is 22 bucks... so i figured its 22; Then probably like 15 bucks for Midwestern ; return tip is like 30 bucks... so i think its a better deal to just rent a car to store my stuff in to right?

Huh, my car rental at Dollar at the Phoenix airport for a midsized car, one day:
Base Rate $ 19.44
Drop Charge $ 0.00
Mileage Charge Unlimited Miles
Approximate Total $ 34.83
Are you under 25? If so, did you have to pay an underage fee? Thanks inngu.

I am old geezer ><
I think some companies may waive that fee if you use a corporate discount (like if you're part of southwest rapid rewards), but I don't know that firsthand, so don't quote me on that.
lnngu
PS. if you get to your hotel, and you find that all the beds are pushed together, you'll know why!

Does Midwestern AZ update via AADSAS? I know they post interview invites via MWU net and email but I am just wondering if they use AADSAS. Also after completing the online supplemental I received an email confirmation of payment, should I be expecting another email saying my application is complete? Thanks everyone and best of luck to you all at your interview. I submitted my supplemental Aug.9th
just got a room at the comfort inn that was recommended, its 45 a night for interviewers
Is it typical of dental students to usually go alone? Im guessing so, however what if ones parent wanted to at least come as well for support?I know one of my parents are like that
of course ur parents can come with u, but they shouldnt accompany u to the interview
overprotective parents lol. mine are kinda like that too. ive been sheltered my whole life, but now that im 21 i need to learn to be more independent. this will be my first time traveling on my own and dealing with hotels, transportation, etc
btw guys should we be reserving the hotel this early? the interviews are still 1-2 months away. let me know if i should get on it quickly, thanks!

Airport to hotel = $22
hotel to MWU and then back to hotel = FREE!!!!!
hotel to airport = $22
total = $44
If you give the driver tip, the max is around $50.
Renting a car = 70 or above.
So I think it's better to take super shuttle~ 🙂
Shuttle services in any hotel must be free. Shuttle services in airport including taxi and super shuttle are being charged.

where will you keep you stuff?...
If you are talking about stuffs during the interview, u can leave them at the front desk.where will you keep you stuff?...
When I went there for the interview, me and 3 other people left our luggages at the front desk, took the shuttle to MWU. The driver gave us his number that we could call him when our interview was over. We called him after the interview(around 2pm) and then went back to the hotel. We picked up our luggages and then called super shuttle service. It took about 30 min until super shuttle came to pick us up. That was long enough time for us to go to to the bathroom and change our clothes from formal to casual and then went back to the Sky harbor airport(PHX).
One bad thing about comfort inn is that there is no restaurant around as far as I can remember. There is no refrigerator in hotel either. My only food were what I brought in my luggages and the vending machine near the front desk.
If this becomes your biggest🙂D) problem, maybe I can go and pick you guys up and then take u to a restaurant before the interview (I haven't started the class yet so I don't know what my schedule is gonna be like though. I am class of 2014 and I move to AZ tomorrow).
congrats... & good luck...

I thought it would be a lot cheaper to take super shuttle too, but I booked enterprise and entering the MWU corporate code I got a rental for $53. I was worried about where to put my luggage before I chose a rental car, so thanks for the useful info pumpUup!
Oh, I've also heard of people getting rentals from Dollar for $35, but I couldn't find such deals.

Yup yup. I was using some Southwest Airline combo deal at the time. It might not be available anymore. Although, I just checked orbitz, and they have something through Advantage for $16/day ($36 all included). Might have to be 25 or older for that one, though.
