If you're Illinois resident, then go with UIC since the tuition will be a lot cheaper for you.

Not a lot cheaper. It is $29,000 vs $33,000 at MWU but compare the facility, staffs, and how dedicate the professors...you will see $4000-$5000 difference is not so much.

Not sure where you got the $29,000 from, but tuition this year is ~$20,000 and I would imagine will go up 10% like it does every year. Illinois budget problems are out of control, but I can't imagine a nearly 50% increase.

The fee estimate they give you is also way overstated.

UIC is on a semester system, while Midwestern uses quarters.
This year's semester tuition at UIC is $10,217 plus about $1300 in fees and about $500 in assessments. The yearly cost is about $24k. http://www.uic.edu/depts/oar/grad/tuition_prof/tuition_prof_fal10_spr11.html You probably won't get next year's tuition numbers until about July.
Tuition at MWU is about $31k plus a technology fee of $1500, so a yearly cost of about $32,500.

I Had an interview at midwestern long time ago (more than a month now), they still have not made the decision yet!!! and no its not that I did not get in, I emailed them and they said, committee still has to cover alot of students.
I had an interview at UIC, 2 days ago, I got accepted yesterday🙂
UIC is pretty affordable, MWU is way too expensive.
I did my undergrad at UIC, loved it. Every single faculty member I met during MWU interview, went to UIC for their undergrad 🙂
UIC is not too beautiful, so is Midwestern, I did not like the campus for what it costs to go there. There is a free parking at MWU, but garage was full at 8:30 a.m. I found spot on roof somewhere.
UIC interview was one on one for however long you want to talk (I took 45 min. really!!!), assistant dean gave me the whole tour and that was it for interview. Relaxing and super sweet people.
MWU interviews 5 students in a group in 30 min max. has writing portion, scary presentation about financial stuff, lunch, and tour is given by 2 students, who did not want to walk outside alot because it was cold and they were running late for their class 🙂
UIC ranks top 7th still, mwu i dont even know.
UIC is famous for research based pharmD but most of the community pharmacists I met are from UIC too.
love UIC!!! Don't mean to offend anyone but this is just my opinion, I may be biased.

hey congrats on getting in to UIC !
That is my dream school. Do you mind sharing your stats?

Thanks!

There is zero reason to go to Midwestern over UIC, unless you CAN'T STAND UIC for some reason (campus for example). Accurate or not UIC is ranked, Midwestern is not. UIC is 30k less minimum for a more reputable school. Midwestern is a money making machine (take their deposit demands for example). UIC has been around since before the Civil war (3rd oldest in the country).

Hey All-

I am an out of stater and I have an interview at Midwestern on Wednesday. I know some about the school (gonna study up tonight) but their website is very vague. I know its a whole day event so my question is what goes on the whole day and how is the interview formatted (I believe its a group interview but I'm not sure). Also any tips are greatly appreciated.

Much Thanks
