i interviewed there a few weeks ago...should hear back soonn..
and hmm, there's been a lot of talk on this forum comparing UofA and Midwestern CPG and whether the things said are true or not, beardown is the 2nd (that i've come across) from UofA that has bashed this school in a very rude way...and that alone does not give a very positive representation of UofA's student body either. I don't think the rest of UofA's student body will appreciate these sort of comments.

You bring up a good point....
Im happy for anyone who is going UOFA, but there is no need to be snotty about it. I have my masters from UOFA and my wife graduated from the UofA pharmacy school three years ago. I didnt even apply because we wanted out of Tucson. Anyone who needs to put down another school to feel better about their choice isn't a professional and doesnt deserve their spot. You're (beardown) a representation of the school right now although you havent even stepped foot on campus yet. As an alumni Im embarrassed not only for you, but for my school. Youre better than that... and the school you represent is definitely better than that. Be respectful!

actually, beardown is a current student in the pharmD program at UA. He was also admitted into Midwestern CPG and attended for about 2 months before he transferred to UA. You should get your facts straight. I don't think he was trying to be snotty about it...possibly giving you some advice.

hes not giving any useful advice to someone trying to get off the waitlist. just bashing. there is no point of him being in this thread at all

Facts straight? Beardown didnt give his background as a student, and if he did it would only make my point more valid. This thread was about a different topic, and Beardown took it upon himself to take a cheap shot at another school. So he went to Midwestern for a few months and didnt like it. What does that prove? For all anyone else knows his learning style wasnt compatible with the fast paced learning model Midwestern provided. I'm glad he is happy at UOFA, and Im glad he has a friend like you to take his side even when he is acting unprofessionally. But as a PharmD candidate, my hope is that he would act in accordance with that professional standard.
Lastly did you really tell me to get my facts straight...and then present a suggestion on what Beardown "possibly" meant? Kind of funny dont you think? I believe I have a firm understanding of where Beardown is coming from as he has posted his distaste for Midwestern and how much better UOFA is over and over again. (just a few examples below)
Just a heads up, Im a first year at University of Arizona and we were told, by a professor that spoke with a MW teacher/dean, that current 3rd years at MW dont have a job fair this year. The reason, when asked by the UA professor, is "employers arent interested in MW graduates". Take that into consideration. Its a super expensive school without a great reputation, so if you get into another school you should go.

and
BS? Dont believe me and see what comes your way after 3 years of work. Then compare what is offered to a UA grad. I find it hard to believe a PROFESSOR would lie to a class of 100 students especially when the MW person contacted him. Ask around what MW's reputation is, there's a reason why some places won't accept MW students on rotations/IPPEs/APPEs.

At some point you have to just get over it and move on. No need to reiterate in every thread about MW, especially when it is so grossly off topic as in this one. Thanks for all the people who are providing meaningful feedback and continue to support the true reason for these message boards. (Sharing information and not bashing learning institutions.) 🙂
I am also waitlisted since mid-February.
Philoiz, I think you and I interviewed around the same time. Any idea when the last interview session will be conducted?
IKRPHARMD, as I recall the last interviews are in late March...I could be mistaken though. On the up side I'm not as anxious as I was last month...I only check the portal every other day and walk, not run, to my mailbox with hope.![]()
Haha, and you guys interviewed not too long ago and already lost interest. I was in the first interview group this year, and still waiting! Even though its my #1 choice, I lost hope and check like once a week in a nonchalant manner.
Seriously, how many of us waiters will be accepted?
Makes me wonder...DID ALL applicants who weren't accepted placed on the alternate list? If yes, then I'm screwed...and I'll just call it a day. If there are people who got rejected after the interview, then we "alternates" might have a chance.

I don't think you're necessarily screwed...lots of schools that don't do rolling admissions are mailing out acceptances this month and next. Some people will probably give up their seats. Does MW rank their waitlist? If not, you still have a shot!

I dont know if ranking waitlist is a bad or good thing. Ranking helps you identify your position on the list and possibly allows you to predict your chance of being accepted. However, ranking can mean zero chance to those who apply later due to being at the bottom of the list. It's a double blade knife.
As far as I know, everyone who received an interview and did not get accepted has been put on a waiting list. I have not heard of anyone that was interviewed receiving a declination letter/call/email. I too am on the waitinglist and I interviewed on 2/18. I still have a couple of interviews left and am still waiting to hear from a school I interviewed at last week, but CPG is my number 1 choice. BTW congrats on your acceptance call today Philoiz. I still check my portal daily and keep my phone by my side. Hopefully the alternate list will get some more action with school starting in less than 3 months.
I just got the call from Dr. Dietrich today, I'm in! So there is some movement on the alternate list 😀😀😀
Nice! Congrats! Will you be attending? and did you get a call on your cell or home?

Thats awesome Philoiz...Congrats! Lets keep the list moving. 🙂
I am on the waitlist, since early december, and still waiting...
Also, I met someone at another schools interview who interviewed at cpg and was rejected... just wanted to clear up the misconception that all who interview are placed on the waitlist... 👍
Also, I met someone at another schools interview who interviewed at cpg and was rejected... just wanted to clear up the misconception that all who interview are placed on the waitlist... 👍Well guys I am probably going to give up my spot at Midwestern CPG very soon since I have been accepted into Midwestern CCP and I would rather go there instead. I hope that will help someone who is anxious.
