🙂 I feel blessed, but faced with a tough decision. Recently got accepted into Midwestern Glendale (3 year program) and Texas Tech (4 year program). Texas tech was my first choice, but the fact that midwestern is 3 years is so tempting. Have a bachelor's degree and really don't want to spend so much time in school anymore. But then, i can't seem to decide where to go. I know the stress level is high for three year programs, but Texas Tech is 4 years and it's equally tough. infact, if you were in my shoes, which would you choose and why? I have until friday to send in my acceptance. Some imput will help in this decision and give another student on the waiting list in one of these schools an opportunity if i decline. :luck:

I would like to go to MWU-Glendale, so I'm going to convince you to go to Texas... please?! If Texas is your first choice, go there! I just interviewed at MWU-Glendale today and would really love to go there, being that it is my homestate and I've dreamed of it since I was in high school. Ultimately it's up to you, but remember Shaun from Arizona whose seat you're taking come Fall!

😕 I really hope this is a joke...

CPG is actually 2 years 9 months. That's an extra 125,000 in your pocket.

(That was such a big number I thought it bore repeating.)

I was in the same situation a few years ago. However, as soon as I interviewed at MWU, I knew that's where I was supposed to be. If your first choice is Texas, go there. It looked like a great school a couple of years ago, and it probably has only improved since then.

I have been accepted to 4 schools (really blessed) Pacific University 3 yrs
Texas Tech, UH & UT. I have secured my seat in all schools so I can really take time to decide. I am having a hard time deciding where to go since all these schools are supposed to be good. My problem is 2 fold-- 3yr vs. 4yr. I like the 3 yr program, but it is new school so it is currently pre-candidate (they should be getting the accreditation when the inaugral class graduates) + it is expensive COA is in the 40's

2nd part, if I choose a 4 year program, then which of the three (Tech is my first Choice too, but the town stinks like cow $hit) plus it is the most expensive out of the 3 4yr programs.

I was dying to get in anywhere and now this..Oh God H----e----l----p meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Go UT if you have the choice, the city, the school, and the cost are all better (at least arguably)

UT is #2 in nation... i heard its a great school... just everything about it is great (i heard)... and of course the city is beautiful...i have heard some great things about UT!

Thats my #1 Choice (i think)

--- But i'm glad ur taking your time to decide. Maybe u can try talking to the current students and see what they like or dont like about each of those schools...and maybe that will help u make your decision.

I was trying to decide b/w UH and UT (even before i got my offers) and then one UH students e-mail convinced that UT was it! UH is great but no experience like UT!

Good Luck deciding 🙂 👍

Hi There,

Have u tried talking to the current students at each of those schools to see their views about the program... maybe that will help u in your decision.

Besides that ... personally i'm a true texan.. so i would have def. picked Tech over Glendale. And I dont think i would want the 3 year added stress in my life. I would rather go with the 4 year program. I too have a bachelors degree, but rushing thru school is not my thing --- feel like that would be too much stress, and its just not worth it.

But in the end, its you who has to decide what u can handle and what u cant. Maybe if u can handle the 3 year program then go for it.

Good Luck deciding... hope it works out for u.

i got accepted to MWU-CPG and declined, mainly because i thought the 3 year program would be very stressful, and because i thought it would be nice to have time off in the summer to see family and work more, etc.... but on the money side of things, you are saving in the long run with CPG, i guess it depends on if you want to save money in the long run or make money over the summer! try looking at the actual curricula of the two schools (besides the time issue)... is there something that really sucks or stands out about one school?

How can Pacific have a reputation when they haven't had a class?

I think if Texas Tech was your first choice then you should go there. A 3 year program sounds tempting Im sure, but staying in school for 1 more year isnt that big of a deal to me. I mean one year goes by so fast. Also, youll have your whole life to work, if you truely like Texas Tech better (location, people, etc...) then I say stick with your first choice.

I am at MWU-CPG... I was thinking it was going to be hard and stressful. It really isn't. I work ~20 hours a week and still have time to watch all my favorite TV shows, and go out on friday and saturday night. Once you get a system down it is really not that bad. Tests are always on friday and tuesday. Most weeks you only have one test. All you have to do is study the powerpoint notes provided for you and you will do fine. We are 6 quarters in and I don't know of anyone in our class who has dropped out or held back do to grades. Other classes have had students held back but as far as I know the ones that left in our class, left for personal reasons.

I am not making it sound like a cake walk... I am definitely studying more than undergrad but definitely not as much as I thought I would.

I also don't feel like I am getting less of an education, because we are being taught everything we need to know and more... its just a matter of me storing it long term or taking the initiative and continue to improve on my knowledge base.

The rapid pace tends to make you store most of the info short term and then dump it when you move onto the next subject. However, I could watch less TV and review old material(if I wanted to).

I can't agree with you saying that Tech is the most expensive- actually if you take into account the cost of living it is probably the cheapest out of all 4. Not only that, Tech considers you a graduate student starting the first year so you are eligible for full graduate loans through financial aide instead of having to take out private loans if you've maxed out in undergrad (which you will have to do at the other schools for your first 2 years).

I went to UT for my bachelors and the school is quite expensive (especially when they are increasing their tuition yet again this upcoming school year), and the cost of living is too.
