I think you being accepted to midwestern just bumped Midwestern from #2 to #1 on the list

Hey Gavin, good to hear from you and thanks for asking.

MWU has had its ups and downs in our first year so far. Basic sciences has been solid since Midwestern, as a health sciences school, has had a good program for years. Our dental faculty is great (many came over from
ASDOH as I'm sure you know) and has been growing with us. The D-2's are going to benefit a lot from our bumps in the road. To be honest though, it has been a lot less rough than I expected. I'm pretty easy going though. I imagine that it has been something similar to what you experienced at ASDOH.

Being completely unbiased, I really do believe that MWUCDM will be a fantastic program in the near future. The attitudes, approach, energy, facilities, campus, etc, etc, are refreshing and exciting. It is great to see that the faculty is as interested in our success as we are. I had several other acceptances and I haven't once questioned my decision. I would venture to assume that most of the class feels the same way as I do.

How is the residency going? How much more time do you have with it and what are your plans afterwards?

If I were you, I'd delete all of my posts, make a new user name, send apologies via PM to your future classmates, and pretty much never post anything opinionated on SDN again.

Congrats man! I interviewed at Midwestern. For what it is worth I thought the school was bomb diggity.

absolutely not. we would have a conversation about ethics and professionalism. you wanna be like this though? it may not make a difference, but believe me when i tell you that there is NOTHING more important to Dr. Simonsen than character and integrity.
 
no way you will be able to tell who this waitlisted2009 guy is when the class meets up for orientation. UNless he has some real balls to speak it, which is fairly unlikely (no offense), your best friend in dental school (mwu) might end up being, this guy 🙂
 
wow..this guy and some other threads posted lately regarding MWU seriously give this brand new school a real bad name... I feel very sorry for the faculties and other students. No offense but I'm glad that I'll be attending somewhere else..

I am going to treat everyone I meet with respect and give them the benefit of the doubt.

btw, i turned down CASE to go here.. and I dont regret my decision just because of one jerk student. Every school is gonna have one jerk student, at least!

everyone I met at MWU is awesome, and im certain that 99.99% of our class is awesome.

Maybe even waitlisted2009 will become awesome. Dont let one bad egg give you a bad impression of our school.
 
Guys and gals, If the OP doesn't make it through the first day of dental school at Midwestern, give me a call. I will be on the first plane to Phoenix.

it won't be hard to figure it out....so i'm going to start now. accepted may 1st and i know he got at least applied to mayland and uop...narrowing it down....apparently african american male....narrowing.....is probly from arizona state.....boom. can't be more than 1 or 2 possible students. i've made a "best of waitlisted 2009" list that i'm emailing to dean simonsen. i think he'll especially like the racist, one of the worst schools in the country, and how stupid dr. simonsen's presentaion was about his son and the navy, oh oh and the anti-military post. it might not have an effect on the situation but i will make it known the character of this guy, and dr. simonsen WILL take notice.

Apparently waitlisted goes to ASU from looking through some of his old posts, so it shouldn't be hard to pinpoint who it is, especially I'm sure if Adcoms are lookin in this forum right now, they would know who they accepted within the past few days who goes to ASU. Or easier yet, I might just ask Dr. Zais or Dr. Polk, or even office staff on Monday who they exactly accepted within the past few days to find out who it is.

Every class does have one jerk, and quite frankly if waitlisted is like this in person, he might make all the difference in your class. As Dr. Simonsen said, every class has their own "vibe and characteristic unique to that class". You guys should straighten up Waitlisted in the beginning of the year, or it might be a rough year.

I kind of feel worried for your class to some degree. (I'm not joking either)

This is why people need to think b4 u write something on these forums.

Obviously all these factors wont make waitlisted's acceptence taken away, as he/she is already accepted (at least thats wat I think).

However, its not going to be the best 1st impression to Dr. Simonsen. On a serious note, I hope waitlisted wasn't planning on specializing, cuz I don't know if Dr. Simonsen would want to write a letter to someone that just called his school "the worst dental school in the country".
 
I can promise you man, He will NOT ruin our class. I am gonna spend 4 years and a god aweful amount of money😀 to go to this school, and you can be damn sure that even if every other person in my class was a jerk (which they wont be, i think they are gonna be great) I would still get a damn good education and be a good dentist.

Like I said, every class has a jerk, but anyone can change. I am always willing to forgive and forget, but it does bother me that someone like wailisted got in off of the waitlist when so many other good people who wanted to get in didnt.

False. He graduated from Arizona State. Is a black dude accepted off the waitlist. From the other thread, there aren't too many black people at MWU so that should narrow it down a lot. If he acts ANYTHING like he does IRL that he does on this forum, then you'll be able to spot the douchebaggery a mile away. Good luck with your "citizens arrest" or whatever you wanna call it.

With waitlisted and that other hersheylove person coming to MWU I really do hope the rest of the class is better for you guys. Seeing the ridiculous nature of these two in the forums has made me feel happy I turned down MWU--not b/c of teh schol but b/c the class next year doesn't seem as awesome as the current students.
Hopefully the experience in dental school will help them not be such idiots...

And I think its interesting that OracleDMD/Jason feels like he can go up to Dr. simonsen and tell him about this. Shows how tight knit the school really is. Waitlisted is happy he got into the #2 worst school in the country but I'm sure he won't be so happy when he gets a call from Dr. Simonsen.

I think that the person who said they can't take his admission away is right--I'm not sure if they can give it out and hten take it back. But then again.... they can probably do anything they want.
But I'm sure if he gets a single grade below a B or fails to complete all the requirement they won't hesitate to use it as an excuse.

You could be right... or oracle is just trying to protect hte school from D-bags so they can have their good reputation continue to grow without letting some bad apples ruin it.

a concern for character is a bad quality? i know dr. simonsen and explained myself and my reasons for telling him. if he tells me we'll wait n see then we will wait and see, but one thing is for sure, he'll have a talk w/ this guy. that's the end game. if waitlisted ends up going to MWU afterall, he'll be a better person, and more aware that charater is what you do when you think no one is watching...or you won't be caught.

Looks like all the white people at Midwestern are ganging up on Waitlisted 2009, who happens to be black? Is this a coincidence, or a conspiracy? Go ahead and get him kicked out of the school.. and a white school just gets whiter..
