Midwestern in Illinois!

Man i really hope they stop opening up so many dental schools seems like there is one opening up after another. Hopefully this one will be less expensive than the original midwestern. The only state that I can legitimately see opening up a dental school is Utah.....that state probably feeds students into every dental school in the country lol.

being that both schools that closed in illinois were private, this might be a nice addition to UIC and SIU.

Yeah, agreed. It'd decrease competition in Illinois that I was goiong thru this year.
Good luck to all.

What???? Utah is already over-saturated with dentists. One of the main reason to open up a dental school is to meet the unmet dental needs of the population i.e. not enough dentists.....so opening one up in Utah would be a bad idea.

OP ment that it'd cheaper to study for Utah residents due to in-state tuition.

yeah what he said. Utah is gonna stay "saturated" regardless, a lot of those BYU and Utah guys and gals are gonna end up going back to their home state to practice.....might as well give them a cheaper alternative and save some spots for the rest of us at other schools. I think i've been to one interview out of nine that had no one affiliated from one of the utah schools.....props to the state of Utah and their passion for dentistry 🙂

Nice article, ak47. So next year applicants can apply for entering class 2011... 125 seats, underground garage 🙂 , probably, the same inventory as in Arizona school.
Price is obviously more expensive than UIC and SIU but, anyway, it will decrease competition/fight for about 240 seats instead of 114. And it's about 10 min drive for me. I go to my state school this year and wish you guys good luck this and/or next appl-n cycle.

At one of my out-of-state interview, I was told that applicants from without-d-school states have an advantage over applicants from states that have d-schools.
