To prepare for it just relax and think about all the typical questions ahead of time.

This is the 4th week of interview, and it is expected that about 450 applicants will be interviewed by Dec 1st. About 75% of the acceptances will be sent out.

Last year they interviewed over 600. This year they will interview only 500 something.

Last year they recieved nearly 2000 applications. This year the number is expected to be about 3000.

Thanks for sharing. I hope your interview went well !

I am wondering what the schedule is on interview day.. Do we have the interview towards the end of the day or what?! I haven't had any, and midwestern will be my first one.

You get to the interview about 7:30 for breakfast (bagels, chips, water, coffee, granola bars, etc.). I'm glad I had half a bagel and a cup of orange juice at the Sleep Inn (the cheapest I noticed, it was a little over $60 with tax) I stay at because no one really felt like eating anything in the admissions office.

At 7:50 they decided to gather us into a conference room where Dr. Simonsen gave a presentation. Very informative.

Then, about 8:30 I think, the interviews immediately took place right after the presentation (2 persons panel). We were divided into three groups to be interviewed by 3 pairs of interviewers. Everyone just waited in the lounge area in the admissions office where the food was located.

When most people were done with interview the financial aid presentation started in the same conference room.

Then we waited in the lounge area again to be taken to the cafeteria (around 11-11:30am) where we were allowed to use our $9 vochures to purchase whatever we wanted. Just pay the difference if it's more than $9, but most people didn't go beyond that. My total with a salad, a bottle of soda and water was six something but the nice lady waited for me grab a pack of gum and an apple to bring it up to almost $9.

Following lunch was the tour which lasted until 2pm (finished early). What stood out the most was the Simulation Lab and the anatomy room where there were a bunch of tables with a body (real dead person) on each (covered though). Dental students get to work on them after the DO students do their stuff.

Everyone was very nice. It was hot. We were allowed to leave our jackets in the lounge right before heading to lunch.

Most people wore dark (black/grey etc) colored suits with white dress shirts.

did you get interviewed by yourself or was it a group interview?

Alone. Each pair of interviewers interview 6 applicants one after the other.

I felt that all the interviewees had good personalities and all...so I really have no idea what they're looking for when they decide who to accept. I feel like everyone is a good candidate.

how many people were there on that day getting interviewed (applicants i mean)???

PS. Can someone please tell me the exact number of people that are getting interviewed before DEC 1st and the number of people they are choosing out of that pool on Dec 1st....

Thank you guys.

18 applicants a day twice a week. This is the 4th week so thats 144 people. 7 more weeks until Dec 1st so that's an additional 252 so looks to me like 396 people will be interviewed by Dec 1st.

I do not know the number of people but I was told that about 75% of acceptances will be sent.

Great Info! Thanks to the OP, I really appreciate it!

So, 396 +108(3wks, so 6 Jan interviews: 6x18=108)= 504
What you heard there seems pretty much correct to me if there are no more interviews in Feb, Mar, or Apr... And if there are no more interviews after Jan, it tells us the Jan 21 interview, whis is only available now, is going to be the last interview. So, if you are applying now, your chance for MWU would be close to zero I guess.. hm....

I scheduled mine on Jan 6th. I wish I could do my interview before dec 1st...oh well...

Hey! deus85?
Did they tell you when's the next date they send out the acceptance letters for Jan interviewees??

Hey ldm,

Sorry, I didn't ask. I guess I was more concern about pre-Dec 1st interviews.

I was told specifically that last year they interviewed over 600, but this year they planned on cutting it down to the 500's.
