They are sending out 80 acceptances today. From there he expects 65 people to say yes, as the remaining 35 spots will go out later in the cycle.

I just called them, they are still in the process of calling everyone. I havn't heard anything either.

How long is Midwestern going to give us if we're accepted to make the final decision and send in the first deposit (which I remember being $1000)?
That is a very good question. I'm not sure. I hope I just get an acceptance. I know it is $1000 dollars though! Have you heard if you're in?
I remember Dr. Simonsen said it was 30 days, but I dont know for sure.

They probably have the secretaries making the phone calls. 80 phone calls. That's gonna take a few hours for a couple-three secretaries to perform. Just relax...Midwestern is going to have A LOT of flux from today to their final class, due to the fact that it's an expensive, new private school that doesn't have much reputation yet. Even if you don't get in today, there's a very strong likelihood that you'll get in my July. I'd say they go through over half of those that interviewed to fill all their seats.
I justs called midwestern. The secretary said that three people making the phone calls and she anticipates they will be making phone calls throughout the rest of the day. I guess I'll just have to sit around and be unproductive a little longer.

are they doing phone calls in addition to letters via snail mail? because from the interview it sounded like we'd only get letters! My mail comes in like 2 hours and I haven't heard anything yet, so I'm flipping outtt!!

I was told the same thing at interviews. Maybe they changed their minds when they found out everyone else was calling today.

I'm definitely sticking with the civilian route. There's just too many questions reguarding my retirement, etc. that it's just not worth the hassle. Plus, when I graduate in 2012, my two oldest kids will be in high school so I don't want to start moving around again.
As far as which school, I'm in a tizzy. I wasn't nervous at all about getting accepted and now that I've gotten two offers I'm a nervous wreck. I'm wierd that way.
I hear ya. I'm kinda the same way. I just got accepted to Louisville today where I get in-state, but I'm leaning towards MWU (if I get in there). But I want to do the HPSP so the tuition factor is a non-factor for me personally. Do you get in-state tuition at UIC?

I hope they're not done! weren't we all supposed to hear SOMETHING from them today? Whether it was acceptance, waitlist or rejection? I didn't get anything in the mail either...aaaahhh this is killing me!
I am having a mental breakdown about this. I felt like my interview went really really well. I hope they are not done! When did you interview. I interviewed on Aug 28th. Do you think they forgot about me?

Relax, I'll admit I'm a little uptight over MWU because they're my first choice for me, and I haven't heard back. Thankfully, Louisville accepted me today so that eases my nerves, A LOT. However, MWU has 400 interviewees for 100 seats. I think they'll go over HALF of their interviewees to fill all their seats. If you haven't heard from them, like me, then they'll probably get to you soon enough. Having only 30 days to reply for your seat deposit should expedite the news for the 2nd and 3rd waves. I wouldn't panic at all, it's still VERY EARLY in the process.

Wooooohoooo! Just spoke to Dr. Polk who had some great news for me! This is my first acceptance and let me say this - it feels sooooo good. Its been a really long road for me and Im glad its finally starting to pay off!
I was freaking out allllll day yesterday after reading all these acceptance threads. I was looking at my cell phone every 5 seconds to see if I had any messages. Little did I know they had left a message at home for me which I didn't get until this morning. My heart almost popped out when I heard Dr. Polk's voice!
Congrats to all you others who have received the good news and hopefully we'll all be meeting in the fall!
To all those who have not yet received acceptances keep your head up and dont ever give up! Also dont forget to listen to your messages at home🙂

I got a letter in the mail with no phone call. I guess I'm not as special. An acceptance nevertheless.
Those who have Midwestern as there first choice will love it. I had two brothers graduate from their DO program and they loved it. The school was especially cool with their families and they made some life long friends with fellow students.

Maybe they couldn't get through on the phone to you because your phone was busy with you talking with all those other schools you got accepted by.🙂
