Midwestern Matriculation Process
Started by comet81
I am matriculating also, I think as long as you complete the pre-reqs and keep the min. GPA you should be ok...Maybe check with Wendy about it??
Did you receive the admission packet yet? I still haven't received mine.
Nope nothing yet...Let me know when you do!!

ok i think u double posted...this was my opinion.. http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=349463
it shouldn't affect your matriculation process as biochemistry isn't a required prepharm course for CCP.
Are you a student currently at Midwestern?
For those who are accepted to college of pharmacy at midwestern, have you received the admission package yet? I still haven't received mine and now I am little worried about it. I called admission office this afternoon and the lady told me to wait until this Saturday and called them back if I still don't receive by this Saturday. I am just wondering. Also, I realized that we can pay our deposit through out Interact Site but they want me to put our user ID and password. But, we don't have any. Has anyone done this?
I haven't gotten mine yet either. I wouldn't worry too much yet though. She said we have until sometime in January to pay the deposit so a few more days won't hurt. Hopefully something will show up soon. I'll let you know when I get mine.

I am littel confused about matriculation process in midwestern. For Pharmacy Techinician certification, the package indicated that we have to have Illinois Certification. But, is that mean we have to take the test in Illinois State? I applied March test two weeks ago but i think I applied as Maryland Certification. What am I supposed to do?
I believe you only need to register in the state of Illinois as a Pharmacy Technician, it does not have anything to do with the PTCB certification, that is an entirely different process. I am registered as a technician in Minnesota, and now in Illinois, and I have a certification with PTCB which is not associated with any state licensure. Hope this helps!

Being a licensed pharmacy technician has nothing to do with being certified. I am a licensed tech, but not a certified tech. To get your illinois tech license all you need to do is fill out the application and send the state $40.

Just wondering if you guys got a packet with medical information with your matriculation agreement? It says there should be one, but I thought I'd ask if you all got one before contacting the school.
I am waiting for that packet too, although I am a Osteopathic medical school applicant at Midwestern Univeristy and not PharmD but I guess matriculation process is the same.

There is no medical info with my matriculation agreement on my packet. I was worrying about too so I called the admission office but the person who is charged with pharmacy are out for lunch. I don't know what to do.
sounds good, it's probably not ready to go yet. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't just me. 🙂

1)Deposit,
2)Original Matriculation Agreement
3)Criminal Background with Signature
4)Technical Standard form with signature
am I right? Is there anything that I need to sent besides above materials?

Yep that's right. I haven't talked to anyone about it, but the health info doesn't need to be in until August so don't worry too much yet.

Hello, goraka
Did you pay your deposit yet?
Does anyone know where we have to send our Fall Semester Transcript? PharmCas? Admission at Midwestern? or Both?
I sent them to both...
Has anyone applied the loan application? I am worried about this because I don't think I have good credit score🙁 . I thought I would be carefree after receiving acceptance letter but I just realized that I got another worry after another😛 . When can I be carefree😉 ?
I sent them to both...
Hi, jlpolla
How long does it take for Illinois gov. to sent me the license? I sent application, copy of high school diploma, and 40$ fee on last week. This is all I have to do, right?

do u know where a good place to dorm is?
Midwestern has three residence options...Pines Apartments, Redwood Hall, and the traditional residence halls. Most students live in Redwood..the rooms are newer and it has AC. The Traditional halls have bigger rooms and more storage space, but aren't as new as Redwood. The shower stalls are tiny! All rooms are singles and most rooms in the halls you will have to share a bathroom with one other student. There are a few single dorm rooms with private bathrooms, but returning students usually have first dibs on these. If you want your own apartment and still be on campus, go with the Pines, but you will pay for your utilities (these are included if you choose the dorms). Other apartments in the area can get pricey, but there still are many options.

I am planning to apply Redwood. I asked one of the current student who is residing at Redwood and she told me that the condition in there is the best.
I am more worried about car than dorm.

You will need a car most likely if you live on campus. The campus is in the middle of a ritzy neighborhood. Nothing is within walking distance... Unless you are okay with asking people for rides all the time or not leaving campus. The one variable might be your IPE 1 & 2 site visits. Those will require you to visit different pharmacies. You aren't always guaranteed to be placed at a site with another student. Midwestern mandates that all students must provide their own trasportation to sites.
I lived in Redwood when I was on campus. There are 2 buildings...Redwood 1&2. Redwood 2 just opened in Fall 2005. The rooms are really nice but the walls are super thin and you can't open the windows! Redwood 1 has been around since the mid 90's..the rooms dont have as nice furniture, but they have nice thick walls and windows that open!

Hey KARM,
I am also a newly admitted student to Midwestern-CCP. I will be moving there with my boyfriend and have been looking into apartments in the area. Can you give me any more details on the size/living space in the apartments on campus?? On the website it doesn't really give too many details, for two people do you think it is do-able?? Thanks for all your help!!
