The impression that I got from Midwestern when I visited for my interview was that they are training community-focused, clinically and technologically competent dentists. I do not know if they actually conduct any research though.
I spoke with a rep yesterday and she said that research experience is nice but not something they are necessarily looking for. She implied that the school was more clinically oriented.
Midwestern is a very clinically focused school, and not so much on research. They are more about making the students into competent clinical dentists, than research dentists.
