Does any one already have an interview at Midwestern university ?
Mine's on next Tuesday and I don't know how to prepare. Is it pretty basic? I've heard only one interview with two faculty 😱.

I know it is pretty late to have an interview, but I really need to get into the school :bang:.

Pretty relaxing interview but it drags on.... All the questions I had were listed under the interview feedback so check that. Nothing out of the ordinary. It is 2 faculty with you asking questions but when I went there was 6 faculty so 3 interviews going at once and at ~30 minutes a piece and even with a small interview class like I had with about 15 it was a lot of waiting before you had your shot, unless you got lucky and got to go first. Then the school tour which is great but also dragged on I thought! I am not sure what the dean does when he is there, I know he is quite involved, but he was out of town when I went.

Good luck - beautiful school, great state! You certainly have a good chance still.

Just received an interview to Midwestern last night via email. I am unsure what dates I will attend but I'm looking at either next week or the week after. Does anybody know how full the class is?

My insider information told me that they have 71 deposits with 100 waitlist spots overall. They're more so going to take 30% of the people from the waiting list.

Thanks for the info. Do you think I still have a shot?

So that means there only accepting around 10 from the spring interviews? Not good for me then I'm interviewing on Tuesday... 🙁

Don't get too caught up with numbers. If you interview well and they think you are a good fit for their school then they will take you. There are 40 spots left in the class, and you only need one of them so it doesn't matter where the others come from.

Well I will be there next Tuesday, (17th) I hope to see some of you there. Just have a good interview so you don't have to worry about the numbers because you know that you are the best canidate interviewing right now and there is a spot open and it will be yours 😎

this makes no sense. stop being so self defeating! dr. simonsen holds around 30 spots plus there's an extra 30 or so that will come off the waitlist, many of which are from the spring interviews. that's a ton of seats. also, a unique little piece of info about MWU...our dean is so sick w/ it....Dr. Simonsen reads EVERY SINGLE PERSONAL STATEMENT of every single person that applies to MWU. every one. he really cares about your personal story and invites some applicants for an interview directly after reading about them. he values all of the candidates and respects them enough to not invite them out to interview for an alternate spot.

That is why I like Midwestern and placed it as my top two choice right under UOP. They also take on the humanistic approach towards its students. They ALSO have really sick state of the art clinic!!!!!

Uptown girl, did you happen to have an interview @ Western this Tues???? Were you the one that told me you also ahve an interview at Midwestern while at Western??? Anyway, I will be seeing you this Tuesday. And YOU TOO Mr. KECKLY!!!!

I know this is sort of obvious, but I think that during your interview, if there is something they specifically can remember you about, it will help you tons. Like sometimes during sim lab, Dr. Zais comes over and talks about some of the interview candidates he was impressed with from the previous week, and its obvious if he can remember a person out of all the applicants and was impressed about it, most likely that person got in.

Our Inaugural class right now is all from various backgrounds. Even though we have 111 people, each person has their own unique characteristics that stands out. And because of that, we're a very tight fun group I'd say, and that makes dental school so much more enjoyable. Thats what I like about MWU, our classmates are a really fun group.

Yes, I really like the humanistic approach at our school. I love our faculty, and their hunger to help us whenever we need it.

I had my interview in OCt ,and right now I am on the wait list. So people who get on the wait list later in the game have higher chance to get acceptance because interviewers remember them better?

yo! not really. but if you are not updateing, calling, emailing, whatever...to keep yourself relevant, then i think you are doing yourself a disservice. not that you won't get in, but you're not helping yourself either.

Wow.... that's is pretty cool. I can't wait to see the school. I'm really hoping I get in, thanks for the info.
