Midwestern University

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I think it's for everyone as long as you have a GPA above a 2.5 or 2.7, something like that. It's on their website.

soo when will they get accredited??

It this a legitimate school? I had never even heard of it until a week ago, and I've been crunching Dental school numbers all spring semester. Are they completely new?

No, it's a complete hoax. All these people have nothing better to do with their time then post about a fictiouus school. And one that's called Midwestern but is located in AZ. 😉

i requested info from midwestern (because i was looking into their mbs program) and got a brochure a few weeks ago about their programs, but the dental program wasn't listed in the brochure yet and i was wondering why it wasn't listed in the packet but it is on the website. so i guess i have my answer now, not accredited yet.

There was something a couple years ago with a new school that popped up in Hawaii. People applied (read: sent them money) and they failed their accreditation. Moral of the story, apply with caution and be sure to have back-up plans.

Back up plan is a must in this situation. Heard they (AADSAS) refunded money to all who applied when Hawaii's accreditation didn't come through so at least it wasn't money down the drain.

has anyone else set up an account on the MWU website?

for those who haven't or don't know, they mail you a "student ID" so that you can register on their site (Interact Now) and you can check the status of your app and other stuff.

I did Lemon...I haven't had the chance to play around with it yet...studying for the DAT :scared:

I also created an account at MWU's "interact now". I didn't find it very helpfull. If you have submitted your LOR, DAT scores, AADSAS stuff etc...(that is what it tracks) then you just have to wait for an invitaion in the mail. If you get invited for an interview, they will send you a letter in the mail. I haven't spent much time with it much though...

why did you apply? because you thought it would be open, just like the rest of us did. I'm still pretty optimistic that they will get some sort of facility for fall 2008.

I checked out their campus and they will be starting this year obviously but they are working on getting a facility made. Right now there plan is that you as a dental student will be able to take the necessary classes in their current facilities, but by the time you need the clinic they say it will be ready.

They told me they have several locations picked out for the clinic and are working on deciding which was the best place from what I understood.
