Just got an email invite to Midwestern. Anyone else? I have a buddy in the pharmacy school there and loves it. I hope the dental school gets up and running.
 
Congrats....when did you hand in your 2ndary ?
 
Don't they have a very large amount of pre-reqs needed? Like biochem, physio, anatomy, micro, etc.?
 
I also got an email invite today! Planning on interviewing Aug. 28th, it was nice to be able to just go online and pick a date.

Here are my stats: AA-18/TS-18/PAT-22
Bio-18/GC-18/OC-19/RC-20/QR-16
 Overall GPA-3.43
Science GPA-3.41

My AADSAS app. was submitted May 21, mailed to schools June 12, and sent secondary app. + fee July 7. Application was "complete" July 10!

This is the first invite for me so I'm so excited!!

I got my invitation today also. I scheduled it for Sep 4th. woohooo
 
I also got my invitation today. I'm scheduled to interview on Aug 27. I haven't decided on whether I'll fly or make a 10 hour drive. My uncle went to Medical School there a few years back and really like the school. If your interested check out www.wikipedia.org "midwestern university". I was surprised to see how old the school is. Good luck to everyone interviewing.

For you guys that got Midwestern interviews, did any of you not have all the electives prereqs. met? (Micro. w/ lab, anatomy, etc)
 
Just wondering - Is Midwestern private or a state school?
 
I know that this question has been posted a few times already but did you guys take all of the pre-reqs for Midwestern?
 
I have all the prereqs. other than physio....
 
I also sent off my secondary around July 10th. AADSAS went out June 1st. Does anyone have any idea how many people Midwestern interviews?
 
Hey guys...for those of you who got an interview...first and foremost congrats....secondly.....when does it say on Midwestern's online application status that your secondary was completed? Anyone after 7/16????
 
Congrats to all those with interviews!!! Make sure to let us all know what you think of the school when you get back, it would be great to get some input on a new school 🙂
 
according to that article mentioned in another thread, it doesn't appear that they actually have a facility yet, so I doubt we will be able to comment much on it.

Online application status? The secondary was a paper secondary right?
How would you check the status?
 
I had my app. in on May 17th and I sent my secondary in the day I got it... i think it was sometime early june. Hope this helps.

Mailman,

Midwestern sent out an e-mail that had a link to check your status with them online. More than anything it was just an online page that said wether or not your stuff arrived at Midwestern or not.

I didnt get that email. I called them a couple days ago and they said my application is complete and under review. But I never got a link to check the status. Should I call them and ask them to send it to me?

Click on the interact now Icon and follow the links to create an account for a prospective student. I think that should do it for you.

Really the page is a little silly, it just says wethere your app is complete or not.
 
You actually need the email which will give u a student ID # that will allow you to track the status of your application via the interact site...

I'd wait on that call. I'm not sure if everyone gets an ID number or only those that are invited to fill out the secondary app. I have no idea what your stats are, but my understanding is that you will only get offered the secondary app if your GPA is >2.5, all completed pre-reqs are a C or better (C- isn't good enough) and they like your DAT scores.

I don't have any insight as to what they want to see in DAT scores. I submitted my secondary app on July 16th, but my app is on hold because I am retaking the DAT on Aug 22nd. I had pretty solid scores last year except for a 15 in QR. 🙁

BTW, when I received the e-mail "inviting" me to fill out the secondary app, it did not contain my ID number. I had to call the school to get it so that I could complete the app, because there's a spot that you have to fill in your ID number. They gave me my ID number by phone and said that I should have received a snail mail letter with my ID number. It didn't come until late July, but I'm sure they're still trying to get organized. It sounds like they may have started including people's ID numbers in the e-mail for the secondary app.

I got the email for the secondary app a long time ago. I didn't get an ID number in the email so I just left it blank on the app. I sent in the app about 3 weeks ago. Maybe I should call them and ask them my ID number?

Im guessing that was your AADSAS ID #?
 
When I sent in my secondary I left the ID number part blank. Then when you get an interview email, they send you your MWU ID number which is necessary to log on and choose an interview date.

I was assigned an ID# without being invited for an interview. It went along with my secondary app.

Congrats to everyone who got interviews 🙂

I have a quick questions about the Midwestern prereq's. I have already taken all of them except for Anatomy, which I am taking this coming year. I know on the website it says that all prereq's must be completed prior to matriculation - So do you guys think the fact that I don't have all the prereq's complete before application would have a detrimental effect at all??

Also, I'm taking the DAT on August 27th, but my AADSAS is complete, has been submitted and should be mailed probably this week or next. It seems Midwestern, like Case and others, has started interviews very early - do you guys think that I would still be considered for first round interviews even though my application won't be totally complete with my DAT scores until probably mid-Sept?

I got an interview invitation and I haven't taken Anatomy or Mico LAB yet.I am planning to take those courses this academic year.

I have no public health experience at all, but I did volunteer at an ER for @ 100 hours.

I am interviewing at Midwestern next week and I was wondering if you knew the structure of the interview. I was hoping you had some tips and or heads up on what I may encounter in terms of interview questions. Thanks so much!
 
The interview site says to "select a date" but there aren't any dates to pick (NONE AT ALL). This has been the case since Monday 9/24/07. Anybody else having a problem with the system? I called the school but the receptionist was extremely rude and told me to just keep trying.

I'm in the same situation as you. I called and the receptionist told me to check the website periodically as they will open up some dates for interviews.
