How many people are they planning to interview? Seems like everyone is getting one. BTW if anyone can give me some info on the interview it would be greatly appreciated.
I've already interviewed there myself and I can confirm that they intend to interview between 300 and 400 applicants. I forget how much of the class they plan to fill with November 30th acceptances.
Hi Shane, Congratulations on your interview. Can you give us some feedback on the interiew and specifically what was the essay about and how long was it. I would really appreciate it.
After our interview day we were asked not to share interview questions or essay questions with future interviewees. That being said, I can assure you that the questions asked during the interview are essentially no different than what you would expect at any other interview. Also, you are giving several topics to choose from for the essay. It is one page and should not be difficult if you are a normal, functioning human being.
Just relax, be yourself and everything will go smoothly.
Good Luck!
Like what has been said previously, they are interviewing 400 applicants for their 100 seats. They said they'd accept 60-70% which equates to 60-70 seats on December 1st. I don't know the number that have been interviewed pre-december 1st though...but I'd imagine it's no more than 250. That'd put you in a 1/3-1/4 chance of getting accepted on, I guess, Nov. 30th.
Its probably much higher than 1/4, since not everyone accepted will choose to go there seeing how Midwestern is a new school.
I'm not worried about the accreditation.
Wait, they're not accredited? And you're not worried? 😱

They will give you subsidized loans because they are as accredited as a school can be. We've always been able to get subsidized and un-subsidized stafford loans at ASDOH even though our "final accreditation" was only approved this last Summer.
Don't be scared off from any new school because of stuff like this. There may be other considerations about a new school, but this should not weigh in at all.
Dr. Simonsen is very professional and was a very strong student advocate at ASDOH. He's not afraid to take a stand even if it is contrary to school policy. I have a lot of respect for him and I would hope that he returns the sentiment.
Dr. Simonsen will surely bring an emphasis on being well-rounded (liberal politics, current events, geography, etc.) and I would leave that to you as to whether that is a pro or a con for yourself.
Good luck.

I definitely think they are inviting a TON of people. Well, I mean, if someone gets into Midwestern (which doesn't even have a school built yet) and another school that already technically has a school built, and is already accredited, which would you choose? I'm sure they are thinking the same thing.
