Midyear poster

I would like to do a poster presentation at Midyear. I did bench research in pharmaceutics all through pharmacy school and I am wondering if it would be appropriate to submit an abstract for that kind of a project. I looked at old poster titles from last year, and they seemed to mainly all be clinical studies/case reviews etc. Not really a lot of basic science presented that I saw, which I can understand. So would a bench research project be completely inappropriate for midyear?

I'll be honest, bench research really isn't a major interest of most of the people attending Midyear. It's not that bench research isn't allowed, but if you're looking for constructive feedback on your research, you're not going to get it at Midyear.

True but if you're looking for a way to pad your CV with a poster presentation and a way to have "something to show" for you bench research in lieu of a publication, that could work.

It can't hurt to submit an abstract. I feel for student posters, they pretty much accept everyone. It will be a good experience in writing an abstract and making a poster.

That's sort of what I was figured, but I also thought that they recruit fellows there so why wouldn't there be at least some bench research at Midyear?

Thanks for all the replies. Maybe I will submit an abstract and just try to emhasize how this project could be important to the actual practice of pharmacy in the poster.
