Answer is proteins, but I thought that they weren't able to synthesize nucleotides as well-They were only successful in synthesizing the nitrogenous bases of nucleotides, right?

Yeah, I got that wrong on Achiever as well. Don't worry Achiever has some crazy ques that are semi-wrong. Look at that chart with the animals "up the shore" whatever that means. Altogether, Achiever is best for PAT. The other sections are extremely hard compared to the real test. Reading comp in Achiever is horrible and QR takes up too much time to solve. Good luck!

You are absolutely correct. Nitrogenous bases were observed, but not nucleotides. If they claim that later on a bond between sugars and the nitrogenous bases formed and phosphorylation of nucleotides formed then why wouldn't the peptide bond form? You are right, both answers should theoreticaly be correct.
