Minnesota post Jan. 9th?

Yeah I interviewed on the 9th. One of the ladies interviewing me said that this week was when they were having their meeting to make final picks, so I'd assume the sooner the better. I think that by the end of next week we'll have our answer.
does anybody else know anything??

MN's next batch to inform people was yesterday, Jan 15th.
I don't think it was yesterday because they would have to see how many deposits they received by yesterday, then determine who to accept. I was looking at some threads from previous years, and 2 years ago the 2nd round went out around Jan 24th.
I talked with someone in admissions today and they said that most likely the 2nd round will not be going out this week, but will be sometime soon, and that this is subject to change. I can't wait any longer, I wanna know!!!!

2nd round? I know a few people who got acceptances last Thursday and Friday..
I wonder if soon means next week???
Are you positive???? I thought Minnesota gave out it's acceptances in batches. During my interview (I interviewed in Nov), I was told that acceptances went out in batches-1 in Dec, and then another in Jan, and then a waitlist would be formed in Feb.
I just saw on predents that someone got accepted jan 20 (yesterday!). I don't get this, why wouldn't the admissions office say that they had sent some out and that the rest of us would hear a decision soon? IT was implied that they had not made any more decisions and that we'd still have to wait! i'm so confused and scared😱
Hey trixie, I looked up predents after your post and the person that posted that they were accepted jan 20 also was accepted to tufts jan 20 which seems like it might be too much of coincidince but who knows, maybe thats wishful thinking on my part.
I don't know about that, if I recall correctly, there were a lot of tufts acceptances yesterday on the board...coincidence, i think not!
Actually, I interviewed on Jan. 9th and am still waiting for my acceptance. Sorry if my sarcasm threw you off.

I was the pre-dent who got accepted to MN and Tufts yesterday. Both letters came the same day (my first two acceptances!) and were both dated late last week.
The Minnesota acceptance was "provisional" assuming I don't fail/don't have a record, etc.
Don't worry too much Waitlisted2009-it could be good news!

Why wouldn't it be good news?
Every acceptance to MN is provisional, or at least they were last year. After you are accepted, they confirm you have met all the requirements to matriculate, etc. You will receive a letter in June or July stating you've met the requirements and are "officially" accepted.
Who did you speak to? After I saw your post I called to see if they'd tell me whether there was an envelope in the mail for me, and they wouldn't say. All they said was "final decisions haven't been made yet." She said if we haven't heard anything it means they are still deciding. She also said that there were still acceptances left to be handed out.

No, just the letter. I know they sent out emails on Dec 1st with the letters, but this was the first I heard from them.

Hey, can you let us know what you got in the mail (if you don't mind). Anyone want to take a stab at how much of the class is filled? I'm gona say that about 85/97 seats are taken..I have no idea though..
The UofM School of dentistry set up a webportal today for confirmed students including the contact info for all students. The contact list had 85 names on it, so your guess of 85 was right on!

Thanks for the info! do you know if they have filled up all the out of state slots? I hope so, because then that means all 12 of those seats could be for instate. Although that number is pretty low, but it would be pretty dismal if they still needed to do out of state.
Actually, its prob is even lower than that because some people just got acceptances this week and haven't had a chance to confirm their seats, so that means even less seats for us

I think they either have very few spots left and are deciding whom to give them to, or they are waiting to hear back from the people that they just sent out acceptances to, and then will accept more ppl if any spots open up. I'm pretty sure once they hear back from all the ppl that just got acceptances, then they will make an alternate list.
I have called the admissions office quite a few times, and get diff responses. One person said that the amount of seats remaining are contingent on how many people accept the offer 🙂(). And another person said that there are still acceptances to be handed out that are not contingent on how many ppl accept their offer 🙂xf:hopefully this one because then that'll mean there is still a chance)

I think he/she means an extra year.
The current count is 90. not sure if i miscounted the last time, or if they updated it.
