For those Tx residents, I was wonder what other state schools you plan on applying to. Also, for private schools, I know the trend is usually to apply to Creighton and AZ. Any other inputs?

hey there fellow Minnesotan...some weather huh?

I'm applying to 14 other schools, take a look:

Arizona School of Dentistry
Boston University
Case Western Reserve University
Creighton University
Howard University
Marquette University
Meharry Medical College
Midwestern University
New York University
Nova Southeastern University
Tufts University
University of Colorado
University of Minnesota
University of Pacific
University of Pittsburgh

I hope to get into MN though...great school. Do you go to the U?

Not sure exactly where I'll apply yet - that will depend on how I do on the DAT in May. I'm looking at Minnesota, Creighton, Nebraska, Marquette, Iowa, Washington, and others will definitely get added. I go to Creighton but I'm from Minnesota and I think I'd like to go to the U unless I get in somewhere amazing (Washington and a select few others maybe). We'll see what happens though...

If I'm not mistaking, Washington doesn't take a lot of out-of-staters. Best of luck though!

I'm from Minnesota and am starting this August. Go check out my profile on pre-dents to see where I applied, where I got interviews, what my stats were and where I got accepted. I would be happy to answer any questions you might have. Private Message me if I can be any help! I applied twice also if you need any insight on the differences I saw between the two application cycles I was involved in.

Is the curriculum taught at umn Duluth easier than that taught at umn tc, assuming 2 people are doing the same majors?

I have no idea. I have never taken a course at the UMN Twin Cities campus. My diploma just says "University of Minnesota" and does not say what campus I attended so I'm sure the requirements are similar. A lot of times the difficulty of the course depends on the professor, not the school also. I do know that the Twin Cities campus offers a lot more in terms of Biology electives when I looked in the catalog, but I'm sure that could have something to do with the 5X as many students who go there. Courses are very easily transferrable between campuses also... I have a friend who transferred to the Twin Cities campus after 2 years and graduated 2 years later, so it didn't set her back at all that she started in Duluth. Duluth also doesn't have all the engineering majors that Twin Cities does, but you can come here the first 2 years as a pre-engineering major and then transfer to the Twin Cities to finish in the specific engineering program you want that Duluth doesn't offer. Sorry I can't answer your question any better than that. I also have friends who have taken summer courses at Twin Cities but go to Duluth and everything seems to transfer and work out just fine. But in terms of difficulty, I have never talked to anyone who has taken the same course at both campuses.
