Do minority students applying to med school have a little more edge? Mainly because med schools have to meet a certain quota I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong but more info on that would be appreciated.
If you look at the first two pdf articles, you see that the black, hispanic, and white applicants to medical school have increased by around 400, 40, and 4,000, respectively. In terms of matriculation, there are still about ten times more white matriculants to medical school than blacks over the past four years. That was just an example in which I only included a few races. I'd say these schools are still accepting qualified applicants, but I can't speak for the Historically Black Colleges and Universities because I'm not too sure about whether they prefer black applicants, the main applicants are black, or both.
