Anyone took the MCAT in august and is still waiting patiently for responses? Also any minority students out there with positive stories on admissions these days. I am starting to feel a little bit discouraged.

I took the August MCAT, and I've had one interview (UAB) and one in the works (UNC). I have several complete files at other schools, and am still waiting on others. I'm not a minority.

I took the August MCAT and have had or have scheduled several interviews plus one rejection. I am still waiting "not-so-patiently" on 15 of the 23 schools I applied to. I don't know if I'm a minority applicant or not, probably not -- part Hispanic, but not disadvantaged. Have you called or e-mailed your schools to check on the status of any apps that haven't sent you app complete notices? Also, did you send copies of your MCAT to any schools? I know of several schools which were having trouble getting them, and asked applicants to send them in. If you do a search for August MCATs, you'll find discussion of which schools wanted them sent. Lastly, I'm assuming you've done all your secondaries that you didn't need an invite to do. If you haven't, go to Drako's site for a list of schools with on-line secondaries. Best of luck with your applications, and welcome to SDN! 🙂
