DScheveningen said:does this underrepresented minority include chinese folks? 😕

DScheveningen said:Damn Chinese people, stupid chinese people, dang smart chinese people...uhm, mostly the smart chinese people, darn them, darn them to pharmacy school! Makes it harder for me to get in! and i'm chinese! oh sweet irony lol 😀

bbmuffin said:yeah and they're all probably married

have to do with this:
I still dont see your point either in reference to the topic or discussion. Also, what makes you think just because a majority of white males in your class are married that you can hold that statistic over all white male pharm students? 😕bbmuffin said:The fact is that the majority of the white males in my class are married. The number of single people in pharm school is next to none.

bbmuffin said:Alright I was just saying it because the post above me at the time said that white males were the minority in his class. It is funny because males are the minority in all pharmacy schools now and in the past this was completely untrue. Now in my class and i'm sure in others (though it is wrong to make an assumption based on my limited population base) the majority of white males are married or in a committed relationship. That was my point...
I honestly do not understand why this is such a big deal. I mean right now we have 1 (one) white male who is not in a committed relationship.
Why has this rubbed everyone (in saying everyone i mean some because obviously we don't have the time or the means to say "everyone" and i'm sure there are people who dont really care) the wrong way??
And then everyone would turn around and look at me and say WHAT?!?!?! 😕 And then I would say "oops! Did I just say that out loud?" 😳
So it seemed like you were somehow bitter about the fact that all the white males are taken. But maybe you're married too, and that would make it even more strange. Roxicet said:It didn't rub me the wrong way, it just seemed like an odd comment from left field, and I thought it was funny. It kinda seemed to me that the subject of white males rubbed you the wrong way. It would be like me being in a conversation about someone named Steve, and out of the blue, I just blurt out "All guys named Steve are gay!," because maybe I had an ex-boyfriend named Steve and I was bitter. And then everyone would turn around and look at me and say WHAT?!?!?! 😕 And then I would say "oops! Did I just say that out loud?" 😳

I think "everyone" just didn't see why it's such a big deal that white males are married or in committed relationships, and why wouldn't all the males in pharm school be taken? Why is it only white males that you focused your comment on? Most of the males AND females are married or in serious relationships in my class too, regardless of their race.
