James I think some people... okay me... have a fear of ad. com. reading these things and I don't want them to figure who I am, not that I've said anything bad but I just have this feeling that they frown on this... i'm probably been paranoid..... so let's just say that I am a minority😉 Details after I get that acceptance letter 😛

Pre-pharmacy (undecided major)
Black(african-american/ghanaian)
Way to early for me to apply but when I do finish I will apply to PBA and NSU.
Let's hope things don't turn sour like the Pre-allo boards :scared: otherwise I find this tread pretty interesting.

In CA, some "minorities" are actually the majority.

I'm a minority. I won't say what type. If you really wanna know, go find my pic in the "Let's see who we're dealing with" thread.

How can a minority be the majority? I was sitting at a table with a lot of grad students an hour ago for lunch and this guy said that and of course me being the type of person I am I was thinking about it for a while after he said it, Whats that supposed to mean?? Come on guys keep postin those stats!

Well, most any group other than caucasions/whites are considered minorities, but in some programs there are "over-represented" minorities. For example, in 2004, UCSF's pharmacy program graduated 115 students, including 22 white students, 1 black student, 3 hispanics, and 78 asian/pacific islanders.

Also, I live in San Antonio, TX, where ~60% of the population is hispanic. So technically I'm a minority in my city, although I doubt that anyone would assign me such status 🙂

Awesome to See another Ghanaian doing big things . Where in Ghana are you from? I was born in the Uk and spent 5-6 years in Ghana before we immigrated to the US. My Parents are from Tamale and my brother was born in Accra.

I'm not Ghanaian, but I grew up in Lome, Togo. Had to go through Ghana to get to my school in the Ivory Coast. Lovely country.

I was born in the U.S. My dad was born in Kadjebi (town in the volta region) but was raised in Ho and Tema but originally his family came from Togo (Kpalime). As for my mom she is from Missouri (the show me state!). 🙂

I was born in Missouri. 🙂 We moved overseas when I was 8, and I returned when I was 18. We used to go to Kpalime to get away from the city...

Does anyone know the acceptance rate for the pharmacy school at Howard?
