Actually in many states a traffic citation is considered to be a Class C Misdemeanor. I learned this after getting one and in traffic school he explained it is a misdemeanor, but that it isn't looked at the same way as other types of misdemeanors. Class C is the lowest I guess and doesn't carry the same weight as an A or B... Kind of weird but at least in UT that's how it is. Generally you don't have to include it on questions that ask if you ever had a misdemeanor though, they will specify "except traffic citations".
