It's done....

I took my test at the Orlando/Casselberry center. The testing center was very nice, clean, quiet, etc. and the staff was very friendly. No invasive cameras, they were discreetly mounted on the wall.

The test itself was great, honestly. I had practically ZERO embryo questions (a relief because I studied practically ZERO embryo!) and a lot of pathophysiology. I will say that it had a slightly different slant than QBANK; fewer "what's the third component of McCune-Albright Syndrome"-style questions and more that tested your knowledge of pathophysiology, as in why exactly does a given syndrome manifest with the following symptoms. There were also quite a few ethics questions, and I would definitely recommend reviewing these on QBANK as they were all (surprisingly) similar.

My brain literally hurt when I was done (8 hours straight is no joke) and I'm still exhausted but I cannot describe how great it feels to be done (but you knew that!!).

So to everyone who's still looking forward to Test Day, hang in there and good luck!!

Taking mine on Monday!! I am literally done studying and will only put in a couple hourse each day until then!! COMLEX was so darn long over the last 2 days with 4 exams of 200 questions each, that I am worn out.

im with you PAC, my usmle is on tuesday..all im doing is finishing the qbank, read first aid again, and pray...good luck to ya

I'm done too! I did Step 1 today. My brain hurts also. Not enough to not make me look a few things up after I got home just to make sure..I know, I'm a nerd.

I had quite a bit of embryo..figures, my school doesn't teach it. A lot of anatomy also, little nit picky stuff. (Like I studied that..LOL)

The questions are different from the qbank questions. Not sure how to describe it though.

It feels great to be done though! Now, the wait just starts for the score.

Mossjoh 👍

Aint no way on God's green creation I am reading First Aid again!!! It took me a week to do it the first time. Here is my plan for the next few days.

1) First chapter out of Step-Up, on Cell Bio
2) Biochem and Embryo out of First Aid
3) Pharm out of First Aid, but only Mechanisms of action
4) Biochem and Stats out of Buzzwords
5) Chapters out of Lippincott's Biochem on Glycolysis, TCA Cycle, Urea Cycle, and the 2 chapters of mucopolysaccharide and lipid storage diseases.
6) Charts out of Micro Made Rid. Simple.
7) Neuro Anatomy for visualization of internal structures like caudate for ex.
8) First few chapters out of BRS Path over simple stuff like necrosis and stuff.

And that will do it. I scored 74% overall on Q-Bank and I felt good about COMLEX. If I don't know most of it by now my score will only improve a few points with any degree of effort. Those last 24 months are my best preparations!!

You and me both, buddy. It'll drive me crazy if I don't try and look up answers.

Maybe because the actual questions are shorter, less complicated, and don't test incredibly ridiculous detail? 🙂

It sounds like it's 110% luck of the draw as to the question breakdown. If I had gotten any more than a few embryo questions I think I would have died or at least started crying in the testing center! Ditto for anatomy questions. Ain't it great to be done though.....

No! Some of the cases questions were longer than qbank. I almost ran out of time on a few sets also, in qbank I was way ahead. Maybe because I was nervous and had to read each question twice to make sure I knew what they were asking.

Yikes, I take too long on qbank as is (about 90 minutes per set of 50). I should probably start doing timed tests, I just hate going through all the answers afterwards at once. 🙁

Here is my belief. I bet the breakdown of every test is basically the same and that PERCEPTIONS of what people had truly drive their recollection. I have read somewhere that the % of each is basically the same for every exam because of legal reasons. The only difference is that there are harder questions and some easier one's and they are scaled differently accordingly. So, my bet is that we all pretty much have the same exam no matter how you look at it, in term of breakdown. So don't buy into the hype until you have taken the real thing. Now if I have 20 embryo questions then I might change my tune, but I am pretty confident in what I am saying.

You may have a point, Pac. I would certainly hope that there would be some provision made to keep everyone's testing experience as similar as possible. Let us know how your test goes, and good luck!

PAC - I agree wholeheartedly (at least, I hope you're right!). Congrats Mossjoh & MediCane!!!! I'm looking forward to joining the ranks! I'm also now expecting it to take longer than I thougth to complete the sets - thanks for the heads up!!!! I'll post what happens this afternoon 🙂

Congrats M & M !!! I just wish we'd get our scores back sooner! Geez, it's on the computer right? How much finagling do they have to do to get us a number?!
