Anyone can tell me what is THE answer for this question?
a monkey is trained to response to a bell by pushing a button, following the training the bell ring every 2 mins for next 2 days. and monkey stop pushing the bottom. this is example of:
A. habituation
B. extinction
C.generalization
D. imprinting
(Kap. practice test 1 NS9)

The kaplan's answer is A, however I find B is a better answer by reference on Kap book 693.
what you think?

also
On QR 18, there is a question like this:
when Y=4, then what percent of Y^2-16 is 7Y-12?

correct is B. 50%, it says A.40% in explaination

Quote from the book: 🙂

definition" exction is the gradual elimination of conditioned responses in the absense of reinforcement,ie. the "unlearning of the response"."

Habituation is one of the simplest learning patterns involving the supressing of the response to a stimuli. repeated stimulation will result in decreased responsiveness to that stimulus, if the stimulus is no longer applied the resonse tends to recover over time, this is called spontaneous recovery.

the correct answer is 40%

you wrote the question wrong in your post as well

it should have been what percent of (Y^2)+6Y is 7Y-12 when Y=4

so its 4^2 +6(4) = 40 and 7(4)-12 = 16

so 16 is 40 percent of 40
