is it true that mitochondria can be found in both plants and animals? I'm asking because on one of my practice exams that's what it said, so wanted to make sure.

Chloroplasts are involved in photosynthesis, which is the synthesis of glucose. Mitochondria are involved in breaking down glucose for energy.

chloroplast is the equivalent of mito but in plants.

First they make glucose when they sun is up.
When they can't make energy, lets say winter, they use mitochondria and use their glucose up.
