Hey guys, I just came back from the testing center. I will do a write up later, but I wanted some feedback on my scores. What I'm really curious about is if I should retake or not. I don't plan on applying till next cycle so here goes....

PAT: 21
QR: 15
RC: 19
Bio: 20
GC: 18
OC: 16
TS: 18
AA: 18

I killed the bio and PAT section. I did average on GC and reading. Seems I def did low in math and ochem. Support and suggestions welcome. Kind of in a state of shock right now, worked so hard and got a 16 in ochem and 15 in math. :scared::scared::scared:

I'm not sure what went wrong...but Chad's is more than enough to get 20+ in both chems. The chemistries should be the ones that boost your AA up. I would probably suggest a retake since your AA is borderline average with 2 scores below 17, which is the cutoff for most schools. Don't sweat it right now...just study harder and cover up loose ends. Study Chad's THOROUGHLY...don't just wing it over. I really think the material he has on there is wayyyy more than enough for the exam. Use Destroyer to cover up things that you haven't seen before or are harder concepts that could potentially be tested.

How did you study for your organic chemistry? Assuming you went over chads videos, you should be able to score above 20! But don't let the score bother you too much. If you are applying next cycle, then you still have a lot of time to prepare for a retake if that's what you decide later on!

You got roughly 22,982,400 seconds from now till the 2014 cycle. There's plenty of time to make an informed decision, and, plus, you have experience too!

Funny how we said the same thing about chad at the same time for chemistry lol.

I went through chad's multiple times. Only a few questions felt relative to chad's.

When you say you went through Chad's multiple times what does that mean? Did you do a bunch of practice problems to see if you could apply what he told you? I find that I often forget certain things Chad talked about until I actually encounter a question related to what he discussed, and only when I go back to view my notes do I realize that he actually did talk about it. I think if you just watch the videos and read your notes there is no way you will grasp everything.

this is scary...you didn't think your test had questions that Chad covered for chemistries? I mean he covers pretty much all topics in chemistries...

how did you do on practice tests?

some versions are easier some are harder
if you were to take the last 10 dat exams, your score would range from 18 to 21 easily
16 on oc is a little low, but you can always retake - and what's your gpa?

3.36 overall, 3.2 science gpa. I boosted my gpa to a 3.36 from a 2.4 at the lowest, so I have a huge upswing. I'm pretty upset. SOME questions were relative to what I saw on chad's, but some I just didn't have a clue.

hmm..honestly i think your scores are fine...except for OC. how long did you study for? did you use bootcamp/qvault etc...?

I wont bother this cycle with these scores, I think I will retake. Burnt alot of time and money. What sucks even worse is all my friends are killing the PCAT. Makes me feel like ****.

In my opinion your scores are fine minus QR and OC. Everyone on here thinks you need 20+ in every section which is absolutely ridiculous. I know it sucks to think about having to take the test again but trust me in the end it will be worth it. I have taken it 3 times so I know how it feels.

Seems like the consensus I def need to retake. So much time and MONEY. Oh man... Nothing is worse than having to tell people you must retake. Like a dog who just got caught ****ting on the carpet, walking with your head down..

I think PCAT and DAT are really similar.

The DAT isn't honestly hard, when I took the exam I felt like I did not know anything. Once I finished the exam, I had several marks but was still able to eliminate most of the answers.

I am thinking about retaking because I expected a lot better from my scores. For chad's videos, you should review everyday before your exam. Also do a practice exam for chemistry and organic everyday until your exam. I started off with 17's on all my practice exams, it was crazy. I eventually turned that into 20's at the end of my practice exam, they can only ask you few things on chemistries. I learned my mistake each day, probably like 5-6 mistakes each day for like a whole week. Once exam came by, I did not mess up with symmetry, rf values. I just focus on my weaknesses. I would retake, and focus on the weaker topics. Don't even bother studying the topics that you can hit 80% on or 70%, because those you can just review the mistakes.

I would just retake, you can't do possibly worse. Also.. Don't let a retake put you down. Everything is going to work out at the end. It may be few months to years. I would say if you retake, you can possibly get a 23AA. Just imagine that ! It would be definitely better than your first possible attempt, 19-21 AA. I will take that 23AA any day. So think of a retake a way to stand out a lot compare to many applicants rather than a person who failed the first time around.

I just feel like a failure because i spent so much time, energy, and cash on prep materials to get smoked on game day. Also, when people ask me how I did I am embarrassed by my marks. It sucks feeling like a dog walking with it's tail between it's legs. Ugh. I guess I will retake in 3 months. It is so mentally taxing. Also I have to get a job now which will kill my study schedule.

you shouldnt feel that way. you did great except for OC. and dont forget that people on this forum score highest than the average of the applicant pool since we know which resources to use..most people dont know that there is Chad or topscore etc...if you know what i mean

Aww retake isn't all bad! I'm going to be retaking mine soon, and know how you feel when people are asking how you did and you just have to tell them you're retaking it...But don't give up hope! What year are you in school? You could apply for a master's program or maybe work for a year? Or if you're still going to be in school it would be a great opportunity to just continue that upswing trend on your GPA. YOU GOT THIS!
