In my PS, I talk about my experience as a mentor in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program and talk about how after years of being in a relationship with my little, she finally felt comfortable with opening up to me, how I could create a safe space for her, etc. I also listed this as one of my most meaningful activities, and in the 1325 char. box I talk about this too but focus more on the difficulty of trying to get her to connect with me in the first place. I talk about our differences in race, her dealing with internalized racism, and my difficulties and ways of trying to address this situation and trying to develop our relationship further. In other words, I talk more about the process of me trying to connect with her on a deep level, whereas in my PS I talk about the beginning/end of the story. Do you think this description is still too similar to the PS that I should come up with a different description?
Alternatively, I could talk about an ethical challenge that I encountered with her, but I know that some secondaries/interview questions address that, so I kind of wanted to leave this story for when that comes up. Thank you!
