I know for most MMIs, they say you have about 2 minutes to read the prompt and 8 minutes to speak with the interviewer. Are they expecting you to speak for the entire 8 minutes or is there a lot of back and forth dialogue between you and the interviewer? Also, does anyone have any advice on how to prepare for MMIs?

I think it depends on the school. The one I went to was definitely a back and forth conversation.

Mine was also a back and forth conversation. They definitely did not want you to talk for the full 6-8 minutes.

My experience was after providing an initial answer of 1 - 2 minutes in length, follow up questions that promoted discussion were asked.
